Willis Shaw Express
Question:
I'm looking to get back in the truck again after three years away from trucking. I'm leaning toward WSE. Do they have a company school and has anybody been to their school?. I'm also looking at US Xpress and FFE. Thanks for any info. Once you get out it's hard to stay away even after three years.

From the looks of their web site it appears they do have a driving school of some sort.

Answer:
Maybe after training you can go back to High School to learn to talk properly.
Your Dad was at Prime and is letting you make the same mistakes? Weird to say the least.

Answer:
I'm thinking about Willis Shaw. I see alot of their trucks on I-80. How far east do they go?
I want to stay on the west coast or in the western states. Maybe get on a dedicated run since I do have almost 90,000 miles under my belt with Dick Simon.
I see alot of WSE trucks, mostly Mac's parked at Little America in Cheyenne Wy. If you guys can put alittle light on the subject. I would have less to think about. Thank You !!!!

Answer:
There is a 9 page thread from Taxibobnomore just down the page from here. Check it out.

Answer:
TaxiBob's thread is probably THE most thorough thread about driving (and the company that he's with) as there is. It's highly recommended reading. He drove for WSE then went to Hill Bros for awhile, and is back at WSE. All I can say about WSE is that they do run east coast too. I see them all the time in Fogelsville(Allentown) PA.

Answer:
Yes I did read TaxiBob's thread that you and maxmiddle stated I should read. The info was real interesting by far, thanks for the advise!!
I have read very little about FFE. Is there any good info on then. I know they have a school or send you to one. I'm going to have to go back to school due to I've been out for three years, almost four.
I wonder if they go to the east coast. I'd like to stay away from the east coast if I can. Is there any good info on them or maybe US Xpress??

Answer:
I can tell you that FFE runs east coast too. I don't know if they will run you regional if you ask, but I doubt it. As for USX, I don't know if they have a western regional, someone else may be able to help here. You might want to look into Werner, Schneider, or Swift. All 3 companies have an 11 state western division that would keep you off the east coast. Look for posts by Shuffler to get an idea about how Werner operates. He runs 11 western for them.

Answer:
willis shaw is okay, you do get stuck on the east coast sometimes but you do go out west alot, it also depends on where you live to as where you will run. It is like all companies it has it's up's and downs but here is what i have used personally to see if this is where i want to be the second time around. Other than a couple of small things, i have not felt the need to go home every 14 days, i am not stressed out like i used to be especially at hill (all my regular phone friends can definetly attest to that fact), and overall the way i feel healthwise and blood pressure wise, i must say i feel confident in saying go with wse. As i have mentioned before wse is a low paying company BUT i also have said it's not always about the money (for me anyway), it's about being happy with your decision and this time i am!!
