Before you drive....take a look at these
Question:
Before you hit the road maybe you shoud take a look at the following: Following too close Someone wasn't paying attention Driving too fast????? Looks like this guy may have taken a nap at the wrong time Someone got some bad news that day Everyone in too big of a hurry Another result of following too close. Notice the wet pavement Always check your mirrors Do you think he did a good pretrip? Do your pretrips, do your post trips, adjust your driving to what the road and weather conditions allow, do not tailgate, get your rest, in short be a PROFESSIONAL DRIVER and not a steering wheel holder. While not every accident can be prevented a great majority of accidents can be if you, the driver, do your job, your whole job. STAY ALERT! STAY SAFE! STAY ALIVE! I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: Pay attention this is good stuff. Take care and be safe To be safe you must be aware US ARMY Answer: Look at Another result of following too closely #2, http://www.truckcrash.com/images/rearendd.jpg I am astounded to see that the reefer unit has moved out of it's position? What caused this? Poor mounting? Always do your pre-trip; I lost two trailer wheels last summer. Fortunately no-one was hurt. Answer: I am astounded to see that the reefer unit has moved out of it's position? What caused this? Poor mounting? Looks to me like the forward motion of the freight pushed it out. Answer: just a note of intrest a reefer unit is held on by 6 bolts left lane for large cars Answer: The forward motion of the freight pushed the whole front wall of the trailer out! Ya got some good links there Uturn! ******************************* "Got the bird dog on... Dodgin' the scales... 80 miles an hour and a step outta jail..." It ain't been so easy, but I guess I shouldn't complain. I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane." (from Waylon Jennings) ************************** Member: Happy Dweller Society Owner Operator Division Answer: ok, I was wondering what had happened. So apparently the front wall, and for that matter all walls on a trailer are not nessesarily overly robust--perhaps to save weight? Hopefully the driver was not seriously injured. If s/he was not seriously injured then an apt title for that picture would be "How to convert your truck into a cabover in one easy step!" If the driver was seriously injured, then I apogle and recind the above comment. Answer: I have only been driving for 5 weeks now but have already seen 4 tractor trailer wrecks. (1)Skateboard locked up trailer brakes and hopped over a guard rail. (2) CTI ran off the road in a construction zone and turned over in some trees. (3) CFI got run off the road (4) O/O laying on it's side in far left hand lane in Amarillo TX. (note) I came over a hill and nearly became part of the wreck. Had plenty of room to merge over! Oh ya (5) A student forgot to set his brakes in Driving school and he got out of his rig, went into the school building, and the truck then rolled off the apron into some trees. Sadly he was kicked out for that little mental lapse. Also, one night on I44 between Springfield and St.Louis, I came over a hill with a long down grade before me, and someone had blocked the road up ahead and there was a lone line of vehicles down at the bottom of the hill. Thank goodness for anti lock breaks! MM Answer: Thats something else you've learned mouseman... trucking is a dangerous job. There is a reason you need to be wide awake behind the wheel. Answer: I saw a carhauler that bottomed out gong into a TA. He was stuck and there was a long line to get into the TA . Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
