Turning your headlights on or off.....bet you never thought
Question:
When it starts to get dark you turn your headlights on, when it gets light out you turn them off. Simple enough right?
Wrong!!!!
You need to be careful and mindful in your "timing" when you turn your lights either on or off. The reason being is that if a truck is in the process of passing you and you change the status of your headlights you could possible find that truck merging over into your lane thinking that he got the "you missed me signal".
While all drivers should carefully check thier mirrors before making a lane change it does not always happen. This is just one of those little facts of life on the road you have to deal with, so dont borrow problems and be mindful turning those lights off or on. Wait a few seconds if a truck is passing you until the driver has fully cleared your vehicle regardless if you are driving a big truck or a four wheeler.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.
Answer:
Not only is this inportant, it should be posted inside the truck. I'm serious, think of what could happen if you were to shut or turn on your lights as another truck passed, it could mean a serious crash.
