Stupid question but
Question:
does anyone know if usxpress has toll cards like werner??? Or do u have to use checks??? Also does anyone know what the watts are in there trucks as for inverters??? Answer: If a company does not have a toll card, EZ pass or some other type of account for a toll road, toll bridge, etc, you are going to have to make sure you have enough cash on you to pay the toll and will then get reimbursed for the expense (if it is authorized by the company) when you turn in a reciept. I have a name not a number. I am not cheap but I am resonable. Answer: Originally posted by midnightrunner97: Also does anyone know what the watts are in there trucks as for inverters??? I'm guessing you mean what wattage of inverter to use in your truck? Depends what you are going to run on it. If you are just running a small tv, or a hotplate or something, a 300 watt inverter will do. Anything bigger will require a bigger inverter. Microwave ovens require minimum 1200 watt inverters. Answer: I think he is asking if anyone knows What the Maximum Watts ALLOWED by the company is.(Does the company allow the kind of inverters that must be wired to the battery?) Answer: In most company trucks (Werner, US Express) you can only use an inverter that plugs into your cigarette lighter outlets. You're not allowed to alter or add-on to the trucks factory and shop wiring. Werner had another truck burn to the ground this year from an inverter one of our drivers improperly wired-up himself. But there are some companies will let their shop install one for you, or let you pay a dealer to install it for you. So, the most powerful plug-in inverter those 10-amp cigarette lighters will handle before blowing the truck's fuses is; a little 12-volt inverter producing 300 watts of continous 110 volt household current. Some advertise they can handle "600 Watt Peak Power!" But that's just a momentary peak, like the spike it takes to fire-up a crt or a larger television tube. 300-watts, through a regular wall outlet mounted conveniently in the side of the little inverter itself, is the most watts you can get without hard-wiring one of those big inverters directly to the battery. It is not enough watts to run a microwave, which usually requires at least 600-watts of continous power, requiring a larger, hard-wired inverter. The little plug-in inverters are in heavy shrink plastic on a hook somewhere in most large truckstops. . Example:120 (volts) times 10 (amps) =1200 Watts. Check the amp draw and voltage of the unit you want to power and convert the watts it will consume. Partzee Partzee Answer: U see my recruiter was claiming there is inverters in the truck..and I was thinkking hmmm....how can this be.... then I ask if what the watts were...and she didnt know and she would have to find out sometime... which i not sure if she remember anyhow about getting back to me......but I going to m ask about i have to double check on everything.... Thanks everyone... Answer: US did have them when I was there in 94-97 Answer: Yes ... USX does have toll cards. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
