"The Long Haul", Washington Post Article from Augu
Question:
A must read for newbies! The BEST of us discuss issues. MOST of us discuss things. The WORST of us discuss other people. TruckNet's On line Job Applications. Answer: Did ya'll read it? The BEST of us discuss issues. MOST of us discuss things. The WORST of us discuss other people. TruckNet's On line Job Applications. Answer: It was a good article, but I am unemployed and have some time on my hands. A great read for anyone thats thiking about trucking as a career, or changing into trucking from a different path. Monty, I know its at another site, but I think mabe you should be in touch with Paul Cillwa to get permission to put a link here to his year long journal. It's a journal about going through the entire newbie process, all the way to the newest entry recently, regarding his most recent chioce to leave the carrier he was with. Like "A Trainers Tail", I belive it is a must read for all newbies. I will E-mail you and Choclit a link to check it out, if I can et my E-Mail to work. TJ Hey Dude, MY sunglasses are WAY cooler than yours. Answer: Yep, read the article. Been OTR with my husband over a year and it's a good mix of the extremes. Sobering... worked in an office capacity most of my life and the gypsy life appeals to me even considering all the negatives. Been in some ratholes with the big truck and been in some glorious places also. Remember delivering a load to some rural area and the day was just spectacular. Laid over for several hours, hubby had plenty of sleep prior to this trip so we took a long walk and enjoyed the local scenery. Stopped in a local candy making facility and the grounds were like Disney Land. Lots of flowers and gingerbread gables with diamond paned windows. The chocolate was scrumptious. The widelife was gambolling among the trees and life couldn't be better. Maybe I'm idealistic but this is what I like to dwell and focus on. Constantly dwell on *%#( and that's exactly what will find you... &$)#. The glass is always half full... never half empty. Be safe and prosperous.
