Driver Training and Me
Question:
After years on the road with my hubby(idahodrifter) finally bit the bullett, In my second week of a six week driving school. -->
Going thru Bevill State Community College in Alabama.Tuition wasn't bad.(ends up around $800.00(for resident).Class room has been great but the hands on that is required thru their program is exceptional. They have their own requirements that surpass what is required to just obtain a CDL. I've always wondered how the mills produce 3-5 day wonders.I see now these guys are steering wheel holders. -->Hope I can keep my sanity and my hair. never figured I'd be the one having to put a 45ft trailer in a 48 foot space. Just one of those things you kinda don't think about. I'm going into trucking with my eyes wide open, knowing the pitfalls of the industry as hubby has driven off and on since 1969. Like many of you he has quite and gone back.It really is a sickness that gets in your blood. But I look forward to hitting the road(not in the jump seat for a change). Hopefully I will get the chance to meet some of you out there along the road someday and my abilities will shine thru with professionalism and not a steering wheel holder looking for the glitz the recruiters promise so many nieve newbies.
God Bless the TRUCKER and HIS FAMILY
May He return you home safe again -->

Answer:
go into truckin' with an open mind. see all of the country and get paid checking out what many locals never get to see. make the most of your time as a trucker and you will enjoy it.
there is plenty of money to be made if you work hard and eat cheap.
it'll pay off the house sooner than a local job.
