The REAL Reality Check for New and Wanna Bees!
Question:
I began here on Trucknet under a different screen name in the very begining.I changed it after I went off line for a yr.Anyway just so ya know even though alot of the 'old timers' here give advise take it with a very thin grain of salt.If you think that they are negitive most of the time your not alone...They are!! They will never ever change cause the simple fact is they cant and dont see any problem with their negitivity. To them its just another normal day complaining about any and everything.Im sure that if they act like this here that their own private lives are very much the same. To you new wanna be truck drivers do nothing more than what you are doing, checking out trucking sites and trying to find information on the industry and the trucking schools, jobs ect... The way the economy is who cares what kind of job you have at least your trying to work instead of being on welfare. Trucking can make you money plain and simple. Its not for everyone but no job comes without its drawbacks ever. I dont think you have anything to loose at all cause life is nothing but a crap shoot anyway. Some of you will love it and some of you wont, but thats how it is at any job. There is a few of the people here in the newbie section that are here to help you.Their not hard to find.Just take what you want and toss the rest.I wrote this because Iam really sick of all the negitive that seems to be here now myself..Hang in there and I wish you all nothing but the best of what ever you decide......Mike [This message was edited by mjhisme on September 16, 2003 at 18:52.] Answer: That would be OSBOURNE, not Osborn ----------------------------- Learning experience in progress Answer: HMMMMM? 'Life changed 40 yrs ago when I was kidnapped by Aliens' Answer: There is often a very fine line between negativity and truth... don't confuse the two. Don't go dissin' the old timers/experienced people... they are the ones who have a whole lot of knowledge and experience to share about a career you are just starting out with. Answer: Sure, just erase the whole quote so people have know clue as to what the heck I am talking about! ----------------------------- Learning experience in progress Answer: "advise take it with a very thin grain of salt" translation they are wrong and I'm right the 10's of thousands that leave the industry all the time are wrong,it really is a good job. ------------------------- Need to get away from it all? http://www.carnival.com/ How about a trucking fantasy vacation Not sure what to expect? Well, if your idea of fun includes great food, exciting activities, lavish entertainment, pampering service and discovering exciting new places, you'll find all that on a Trucking "Fun truck" Rooster Cruiser vacation.
