Hi there, was just wondering if anyone had any info on Sure Shot trucking out of Omaha, Ne. I am thinking about going back into trucking, but I would rather drive for a smaller company. By the way I am from Nebraska. If anyone has any info on this company or any other good companies in Nebraska, I would appreciate your reponse

I can't say I know much about Sure Shot, but there are a few here in Omaha that I know of that drivers I've talked to have had good things to say. Hill Brothers is a great company if you don't mind being out for a couple weeks at a time. They're pretty picky about the drivers they hire though so you'd better have a good clean driving record. For more info check out there site at http://www.hillbros.com From what I hear they seem to treat their drivers very well. They haul strictly Van.
Also there are the Acklie Companies which consist of actually 6 major trucking companies such as Crete Carriers (Lincoln, NE), Sunflower (York, NE), Hunt(Omaha), and HTL Carriers(Council Bluffs) I haven't heard much bad about any of these companies either. Then of course there's Werner out of Omaha here, but I have nothing good to say about them. Just stay away, they're too big and I've heard way to many horror stories about them.
You may also want to check out a company called Pick's Pack Haulers out of Fairbury as well. I don't know much about them other than they are a flatbed company and they seem to have nice looking Peterbilt 379's, I've only seen a couple while out on the road. Their phone # is (402) 462-9603.
Other than that I can't really tell you much about any other companies around here. There's probably a lot of little ones I don't even know about.
