National Trucking School
Question:
Im planning to attend National Trucking School. Mainly because they are user friendly with the military benefits. Does anyone have any info on this school and their reputation? Answer: If your active duty use your tuition assistance. Check with your local education office for assistance. They are one of a few schools that qualify for TA, that is not a community college. I completed the CDL course Jan 03. The home study portion is relatively easy and maybe of some reference use after graduation from the course. The residence course, actual driving training, is enough for most people to pass the driving test. The school has a backing pad using old trucks with shaky mirrors. A coupling/decoupling pad and a practice road course on site. So you will be able to start to learn to double clutch (required) before driving on the road. You drive on the road on day 3 or 4 of training. They have 4 students to a trainer. You will be assigned one trainer and then be tested by someone else. Was told that newer trucks were to be purchased this year. Study at night for the classroom work that is assigned each day. The hotel will be paid for is you use your TA (anyone who pays full in advance gets the hotel). It leaves alot to be desired. If your lucky, you get one of the rooms in the converted house (has a full kitchen) saves some money on food. The school has a friendly staff and will help finding a job. I suggest that you try to attend while on terminal leave. It helps in landing a job and when the companies know your available. Good luck and if you have more questions, let me know. Whistlepunk Answer: Whislepunk: Thanks for the reply. I have taken advantage of the TA. I will try to train in FL on regular leave. Saving terminal leave for moving, house hunting, job hunting. Thanks for the reply. Stay safe LooP Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
