???? for Chris28
Question:
Are you by some chance thinking about doing a lease/purchase to become an O/O with some company? The reason I ask this is because the companies you have inquired about are all big on lease purchases. FFE, Prime, etc. While both have company driver programs they are a side bar to trying to get drivers to sign up for thier lease/purchase programs. If by some chance you are thinking about going this route at any time you need to rethink things very very hard. Very few drivers ever make a go on a lease purchase program. The short of it is that you are actually paying the company you are working for to drive their truck. Yo do not own the truck upon completion of the program most of the time. All you own is the bills, and it is never a good idea to buy or lease something from the company who also contols your paycheck. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: I think he already answered that question Uturn. "thank all of you ..for your input i dont think i will go to prime at all .i think ffe is a better choice anyway anybody other than prime..chris28 " From talking with alot of prospective drivers just starting to look into trucking. Most at one point or another look at companies like Prime and CR England. Probably because lease companies spend more money on recruiting than the others. They make it sound like a great job with pride in ownership. They also make it appear as all it takes is some work to be successful. A pitch they used with me was I may not make alot of money but it will be "more than a company driver". It's a nice lie and won't happen. They are very good at their sales pitch and know how to correctly answers questions. It's their job and most have perfected it. They present a very appealing offer. Most newbies have no idea of the problems so it looks very good to them. Unfortunatly those that are lured in soon find out the hard way. It may sound good and appear to be a good deal, but it's not. Great Stuff "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of all who threaten it" Answer: But I dont think the question has been answered at all. Just because he said he was going to avoid Prime doesn't mean that he isnt also still thinking about doing the lease purchase deal. You are right on one thing though. Most newbies and experienced drivers do at one point or another look at those lease purchase programs and wonder, think and dream. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: hey i was thinking of a lease purchase..but all of my research is saying is dont do it at all .im going to be a company driver and thats that..ffe and prime may be lease companys but im not going there .. Answer: I was getting a little concerned there that you might be getting suckered into those rip off programs. Best of luck to you, keep it between the ditches, and don't feed the bears. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: Is it time for a group hug. Wait a minute, nope not going to do it. Great Stuff "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of all who threaten it" Answer: If it was a group of pretty girls..... I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.
