All Systems Go. Start School 6/30
Question:
Financing is approved, and an awsome rate! I start school with ProDrive Maine on the 30th. Werner called today and said all the Pre Hire stuff looks good, and we will talk later. H.O.Wolding (my first pick) is satisfied with what they have on me so far, but I need to get them my California Driving record. CA. is the biggest pain in the @$$. Carriers can't get an MVR from them. I even called CA today to verify that and they said NO WAY. This is going to take every bit of a month atleast to get this done. Atleast it is all starting to come together! Truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense. Answer: Best of luck Newfman. I trained right down the street at NTI. As I'm sitting here with my thumbs up my butt waiting for my CDL test to be rescheduled by the school, I wonder if I might not have been better off at ProDrive. Here's a thought... Would you do me a favor? Ask the folks at ProDrive how much they would charge to give me one day of practice and sponsor my Massachusetts CDL test. I'll be happy to provide them with a written testimonial if they can get me tested before the "tentative" June 20th date that NTI says may or may not happen. See my post titled "I failed my Massachusetts CDL test." ============================================== Ignorance is bliss. But only for the ignorant. ============================================== Answer: I'm goin in tomorrow so I will ask. Yea, the name change. . .1 Iron is my handle, hadn't thought about using it when I first signed on, and Newfman is my screen name for the TurboDieselRegister.com I'll see what they say. Dennis Truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense. Answer: Make sure you guys put plenty of falopion tube oil on your 5th wheels when you hook up your trailers. Nothing worse than a dry 5th wheel. If they don't have any ask your instructors for some! Peacekeeper Just doin' my part to help! America's original homeland security..... The 2nd Amendment... If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space. Answer: Peacekeeper... I checked with the local lot lizard... she says she's plum run out! LOL ============================================== Ignorance is bliss. But only for the ignorant. ============================================== Answer: Who me???? Peacekeeper America's original homeland security..... The 2nd Amendment... Can someone spare a can of pneumatic fluid?? Yup, born at night, but not last night! Truth is stranger than fiction. . .fiction has to make sense. Answer: Blinker fluid! Always check the blinker fluid during the pre-trip!! Drive on! bandit58.... Answer: Willin, I just got back from the school and told Mary of your situation. The best thing you can do is call them and talk to Ron Welton. He is the owner and a very nice man. If there is something that can be done, he would know. I understand that ProDrive has mopped up for NTI before . (207) 885-1211 Good Luck, Dennis Truth is stranger than fiction, because fiction has to make sense. Answer: Thanks a bunch 1 Iron. I'll give them a call. ============================================== Ignorance is bliss. But only for the ignorant. ============================================== Answer: To all who chose N.E.T. - have a look at the ProDrive web site http://www.prodrivemaine.com/welcome.html and check out the curriculum and compare! Do you think we made the wrong choice???? DUH!!!!! Hellooooo!! * At ProDrive you'll never share your truck with another student. Each student at ProDrive has an assigned truck for all vehicle practice. * At ProDrive the instruction is direct and personal. Large classes where you're just a face in a crowd? Not at ProDrive! * At ProDrive you'll have a practice schedule tailored to meet your particular needs. * At ProDrive the trailers are loaded, just like in the real world. And all equipment is leased, so there's never any reason to postpone repairs. * At ProDrive the instruction is realistic. Individual driving sessions can last for several hours, and at ProDrive you'll receive instruction in night driving. And I thought that I did my due diligence. Man did I mess up!!! To quote Willin "Arrrrrrrrrrgh!" cat Answer: Really isn't any different from many other CDL mills.. I had the same schedule and my school is accredited from the goverment! Just like going to college got a diploma and everything! I added it to my file of other diplomas thinking woohoo this one took me a month rather than 2 to 4 years prostrate to the higher mind!! However it still tallyed to 12 hours driving a rig with a 48' trailer in traffic and 50 hours blind side, 45 degree, and straight backing. Lets not forget the two days of videos with the clown with "BIG" hair from the 80's chatting about airbrakes, and the rest of the endorsements you will need in youre new carreer. AND still 3 people failed!!!! One on one instruction! And Im still scared to death about my company drive test next week. It's not as easy as you may think. Alt Answer: Originally posted by Altair: And Im still scared to death about my company drive test next week. It's not as easy as you may think. Alt Where'd you go? LCC? Also, the driving test isn't that hard. I don't remember what Oregon entails but all you have to do is treat the examiner like any other passenger. Watch your mirrors on both sides, make sure you don't rush shifting and remember to be in the proper gear to start off on an incline. I know Eugene has LOTS of inclines..... Especially if you take your test out on the west side off of 99. At least there used to be an examining office there thirty years ago... Good luck!! ########################################################### I ride for those who can't! POW/MIA - You are NOT forgotten!! Information is power!!
