Yeah, that'll have the recruiters lining up at your door.
If you're not living on the edge, you're taking up too much space.

Answer:
So, if ya don`t want a life, become a otr trucker. You`ll make more money than what ya make now,You can sleep in a box in your truck, which is just as bad as sleeping in a rented room, although you`ll have more privacy, you`ll have less space. If ya have any friends, forget them, cause thier life goes on without you just fine. You will se some of the most bueatiful country this good ole USA has to offer, albeit, thru the windsheild of a freightliner. You`ll meet some pretty nice people, only to never see them again after a few hours. You`ll meet some really crappy people, only to never see them again. One thing I can say, is that OTR is an experience you shall not soon forget.

very flexable sleeper
and don't need much of it
not a picky eater and can go extended periods living on twinkies and Mountain dew
don't mind waiting and waiting, have the patiance of a dead man.
don't mind being cut off, flipped off and talked to like a child.
enjoy listening to the same wild tales, over and over for years on end
enjoy the company of babbling idiots, that don't come up for air.
enjoy traveling on snow cover roads with 80,000lb trucks being driven by complete idiots who think they have control of them at 65mph.
Besides all my wise cracks, one thing you should relize, getting out in a few years ain't easy. You walk into a place and apply for a job that pays 20k to 30k per year and they won't hire you because they think you won't be happy taking such a large pay cut from being a big buck truck driver.Wal-mart wouldn't hire me to be a stock boy in a store,my local lumber yard wouldn't hire me to drive their non CDL truck, they all think that you won't stay and are just going to use them untill you find another trailer truck job.
I walked into a place looking for drivers, the guy took my license and gave me an application,a few minutes latter while I'm still filling the thing out he already has a drug test kit on his desk and directions to the clinic to get the test.He ran a check on me in seconds and I was hired before he read my application.
My current boss even laughed at me when I asked if I could have the part time secretary job in his office because his girl graduated collage and he needed a replacement,he said he can replace her,but finding somebody to drive the truck is a lot harder,so go drive the truck, driver.
So if your under any dilusion collage boy that any company will let you out of a truck and in the office, forget it.They can find office people a lot easyier than truck drivers that will do the job in any sort of compentant manner or more like people that will put up with the job.
They would sooner take the chance of you quiting the company all togetter and than wait for you to come crawling back looking for a driver job, because they know nobody will hire you for anything but driving, than tell you well if you don't want to drive anymore,we can put you in the office.
It's not impossable to find other work, but it is very difficult once you have been branded with a CDL.
If you have a clean driving record and no felonys, you are what trucking companies want.

"I ain't paying somebody to work"
Would sooner work and complain about not getting paid for it.
