Question:
can someone give me some info on swift driving school or direct on past post thread thanks in advance (if first you don`t succeed, get up and try again) Answer: Check out the "Search Feature" on each page. Just type in Swift and go get a soda and your smokes from the kitchen, then sit back. In a couple minutes you'll have enough reading material to keep you busy for hours. ******************************* "I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane!" (from Waylon Jennings) "The feel of the wheel delivers me, from a life where I don't wanna be." (from Joe Stampley) Answer: of Swift "driving" schools are contracted out through various community colleges and truck driving schools scattered around the country. When I was with Swift in 99 the only school they actually had themselves was in Pheonix, Az at the companies main terminal. At that time the school's were 3 or 4 weeks in length and then you went out with a trainer. There was a $500 down payment due when you attended orieentation (basically all the students did was get a physical and sign some paperwork and then were shipped off to school). The remainder of the tution was "financed" by Swift. You paid off the tuition by agreeing to drive for them for a period of 1 year. If you quit or were terminated you were responsible to pay the entire amount of the cost of the school. Upon graduation you return to orieentation where you complete paperwork, watch a bunch of videos, and eventually get assigned a trainer. You spend 4 weeks with a trainer and then spend 4 weeks running team with another student driver. Upon completion of the 4x4 training you are upgraded to a solo driver. At least this is the way it was being done a few years ago. Some things may have changed. Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe. Answer: I can tell you that.... I am going to a Swift driving school starting this Thursday, and I have to have $150.00 sitting fee on the first day of school. I am going to be training in Memphis. The training program I will be attending is 20 days long, and is held in 2 shifts. I will either get the day or evening shift training. According to what I am told and what I have on paper I will room with 3 other people and the room will have full ammenities....ie kitchen, living room and so on. I plan on keeping everyone posted while Im in school to let everyone know the good the bad and the ugly of Swift and their training. Thats all I know as of right now.... Answer: I am so glad you popped in here to clear up some of my errors in all this. Like I said it was a while ago when my knowledge on Swift's schools came to me and I have thought about sleeping once or twice since then.....or is it that I have thought about waking up once or twice since then.... Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe. Answer: Just passing along the minimal amount of info that I know about..... I hope driving truck is like riding a bike. I hope I havent forgotten too many things....... Answer: Rose told me that truck driving was just like riding a bike when I was nervous from not having driven for almost a year. My reply was: You mean we have to pedal those 10 speeds now? Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe. Answer: Uturn....that is.... TOO FUNNY!!!!!.....
