KLLM
Question:
Does anyone have any info (good/bad) on KLLM? All info would be greatly appreciated... Answer: I looked om good/bad reports and found some info Answer: Ya their terminals are very dirty and distgusting even by my standards. Answer: Check "real drivers.com" they have a good and bad reports list. I think I recall a posting for KLLM on the Bad list. but remember they don't verify any reports they just post em. Ike Answer: Like many other companies out there, KLLM has its good and bad points. I'm going to say that the experience I had at KLLM wasn't a very nice one in the end. Maybe that had more to do with my overall lack of experience at the time. Maybe some of their dispatchers are as low-life as they can find. Maybe it was a combination of both ingredients. The short version is this: I refused to drive in what I considered to be unsafe conditions. My dispatcher was pushing me to go anyway, we got in an arguement. I won the battle; he won the war. Because I HINTED at an inappropriate word, one time only on the QC, I got a write up. Because I "behaved so badly" I got a bad DAC report, and KLLM will never rehire me. I had no accidents, no tickets (save for one log book ticket), no late loads. But one of their dispatchers got derriere-hurt by my remark, and made a note on my computer screen. Effectively blacklisting me in the company. If I had the opportunity to go back to KLLM would I do it? I've asked myself that question a thousand times. I think I would consider it if given the chance. I think I can handle their dispatchers with a little more finesse now than I did before. They are, overall, not a really bad company, in spite of my rantings at a time when my feelings were raw. Their pay is good, they have decent benefits. Their terminals could use a good cleaning crew, that much is true. But who wants to spend time at the yard, anyway? You don't make money there. According to Charles Kuralt, "Thanks to the Interstate Highway System, it is now possible to travel across the country from coast to coast without seeing anything."
