say it ain't so
Question:
Im not trying to stereotype truckers or anything, because I know to every rule there is an exception, but it seems that a lot of truckers are well.... how do I say it nicely... maybe a little more interested in pretty girls driving alongside them than actually watching the road.... Or am I the only one truckers react to?
Also, what does it mean when a trucker flashes his brights at you....or at another trucker infront of him?
One more thing, what in the heck do ya'll talk about on those cbs?
Thanks

Answer:
Its a signal to let the other truck know he cleared him , its ok to come over back to the right lane. I dont do the bright light flash, I will flash mine off for a sec when he has passed me. Brights distract the other driver. Its Basically just a courtesy. Hope this answered ur ?

I guess that makes sense... Though I dont know why they would do it to me since Im not one to know truckers singals. But thanks for the answer.
Is there anything else truckers do in a way of signals?

After you "give them the lights" to come back over, when they flash their trailer lights, that means "Thank You".
Watch for the 1 finger salute if you accidently cut off a truck.
If you happen to encounter a truck trying to back into a spot off the road, stop far enough away so the truck can manuever and flash your lights (at night turn off your headlights only). That way the driver knows you are going to wait for him to get his truck in the spot where he wants it.

I would assume as the drivers have a cat-bird seat, that gives them a great view of what is going down the road in cars. So they do the male thing and look. Nothing wrong in that as long as they keep an eagle eye also on the road
As for them only reacting to you. I really doubt it's only you the driver is going down the road to look at!
By the way, I am not a trucker nor male but I like to LQQK at the males I see while driving along the road,so it's not just a male event!
As to the CB jargon! I do not want to really know too much what they yak about! Some things are best left unknown!

Answer:
You are 100% correct it is not just a male thing,
I've been known to look out the window at the guys going by..And when you set up high you get a good look..
I don't think any one is looking for that next "love/lust" it just helps the day go by and you really don't need to just set there and stare at the highway a glance here and there is good for you..

Answer:
Okay that helps clear a few things up...
But what bothers me, is how often they honk at me... or worse, I've actually had a trucker try to follow me...

Answer:
If you a following a truck that is trying to back off the road. Stay back far enough for them to back in. Turn your headlights off and on to let the truck driver know you are waiting for them to back in.

Answer:
The reason they honk at you and flash their lights is because you are probably so good looking they just can't help but say hi. Following you home is another story. Reminds me of my dog. He follows me every where I go if he thinks I have something for him. Some people are dogs.
I enjoy my moments when the right 4 wheeler pulls up beside me. It never seems to last though, bummer. It's also hard to catch them again, but I do try.
Hay, that reminds me of the lady in San Antonio in the Jag on my last trip. She kept catching up with me. What a view, yep uh huh.

Answer:
Following or just trying to catch up to take another look? Don't worry too much about it as you can outrun him easily. However, do not take it too lightly as there are nuts out there. If someone is following you and you are concerned, get off the road and go to a well-lit populated place. Hint: if it is a place where a truck cannot go, he cannot follow.
CB talk? You don't want to know. Most of the time, I keep mine off and I am not easily offended.
