Question:
Recieved notice that ex employer was disagreeing with hubbies rendition of what happened to get terminated. so I have a few questions that hopefully you all can answer.
1. "Federal Law states drivers are responsible for any fuel spills" Meaning drivers (company) must pay for them. true or false
2. Is it possible to park overnight in the Baltimore or DC area? And what about in Febuary when they had so much snow?
Thanks, M

There are a lot of variables on this one as to whether or not the driver can be held accountable for the costs of a fuel spill and these may vary from state to state.

There are a few truck stops and rest areas in this area. One of them is a TA at Jessup, MD which is just north of DC metro area and just south of Baltimore. There are other truck stops in Baltimore itself and just south of DC in VA. However there is not nearly enough parking in the general area to acoomadate all of the trucks that travel and do business in that area.
Thanks, M

In interstate commerce, insurance companies are responsible for environmental restoration up to the limit a carrier is insured. Carriers are required by the FMCSR to obtain and retain a copy of their MCS Form-90 required by Part 387 of the FMCSR. The MCS Form 90 contains the verbiage for environmental restoration per Part 387:
definitions as used in this endorsement
Environmental Restoration means restitution for the loss, damage, or destruction of natural resources arising out of the accidental discharge, dispersal, release or escape into or upon the land, atmosphere, watercourse, or body of water, of any commodity transported by a motor carrier. This shall include the cost of removal and the cost of necessary measures taken to minimize or mitigate damage to human health, the natural environment, fish, shellfish, and wildlife.

I parked at the Jessup,Md TA last Feb. You need to get there early on weekdays. Weekends there is alot less trucks there. It was actually kind of fun with the ice in the lot, only in small spot. I believe it was around Feb. that I had a chat with UT and bigdog from my laptop at the TA.
Not sure why you ask but there is parking before on 95 both south and north and directly in that area. I have never had a problem finding a place to park around there. I will say if you did not preplan your trip and look for the truckstop exit numbers before you got there you'll most likely miss them. Their very hard to see from the road.
