whats the skinny on prime as a company driver not leasing ju
Question:
had a prime recruiter call me and threw me a sweet pitch to driver for them as a company driver. Answer: When Prime bought out the ROCOR assets, they used ROCOR to create a company-driver program. So basically you will be driving for the old ROCOR company with "Prime" spray-painted on the doors and trailers. Why a company driver program? Because like CR England, Schneider, and a host of other dweller companies, Prime can make a TON of money on government-subsidized training. Plus they lock you into a year's worth of indenture with a crappy 10-day training program that they laughingly call a "school" (and charge you probably $3,000+ for). And lastly, from what a few drivers have told me, they will start you out as a company driver for Prime\ROCOR and then try their darndest to get you into their lease-purchase-program. If you sign up for that, then God help you! http://www.subway.com "Daddy was a veteran, a southern Democrat. Answer: ...and you'll need a Good Supply of THIS.(click here) Answer: Alright, let me say this, when my husband first started driving he was recruited by Prime fresh out of driving school as a compamy driver for Wils-Trans, which was a subsidiary of Prime. Long story short, he was an employee less than 2 weeks, as they put him on a truck as the 2nd seat of a team in which his supposed trainer, come to find out, was a Owner/Operator who had never trained and was just needing to drive team to make money. Right off the bat, as a brand new newbie right out of school this so called trainer showed him how to cheat the logs, also told him they were going to have "2" log books...All on the first run. Safety told him this was normal & he needed to learn the "ropes".. This Owner/Op got pissed when my husband refused to sign the illegal logs and the guy pulled over at a truck stop, told him to get out, and that was the end of working for "Prime". They were kind enough to put on his DAC report that he: Left under load assignment/second driver of a team. Amazing how they pull this crap off.. Fortunately, because this whole thing happened within 3 weeks of grauduating from driving school, he was able to get on with another company for training and experience and the bad mark on the DAC did not show up until well after he went to this other company, which happened to be CR England, in which, do not ask me how managed to work there for 2 YEARS and leave on good standing and with a clean DAC.. But thats another whole story that I won't get into Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
