2nd time is the charm, I PASSED
Question:
Well as the subject states, on my 2nd attempt at the state skill test I passed. Tomorrow I will go the the license branch, get my picture taken, forfeit $30 and get that pice of plastic. Let me just say thank you to everyone concerning my ordeal over the past couple weeks. A special thank you to Hoss. All in all, I would be hard pressed to give a recomendation to the school I attended. This primarily has to do with the policy and attitude of the director. But as a whole I would recomemnd SAGE. While running into a dead end trying to resolve issues with the director of my particular school, all that was needed was a phone call to the corporate office of SAGE. Imagine my suprise when I found out that the person I spoke to at SAGE corporate was the president of the company, Gregg Bursa(sp). Well, one hour after speaking with Gregg, the director called me to inform me that I would be recieving 8 additional hours of road time with an instructor and woudl retest. My scheduled retest was supposed to be this Friday. I did not tell him that I had already scheduled a test time before he had called, the last time I had spoke wiht him on the phone before calling corporate he had hung the phone up on me after telling me he was tired of talking to me. Well, last night I had 4 hours of driving time, I actually got to practice on the range at the test site and run the road course. This prepared me, the only varible was that I was going to test with the test site's vehicle. This actually made it easier IMHO. The vehicle I tested in was a Ford day cab 2 axle with a 40ft tandom axle trailor. This vehicle was bout 13ft shorter then what I had been driving. I ended up with 5pts on the range (12 possible) and 6pts on the road(25 possible). Soo all in all I'm a happy camper with that behind me. Now the real fun begins, getting a job. I have an application pending with Roehl. I had a motorcycle accident in Feb 2001 and it seems to be an obstacle. Other then that incident my driving record is clean. I am going to call other flatbed companies tomorrow to check their policy regarding student drivers. Any recomendations would be appreciated. Once again thank you to everyone, Be safe, Buzzdog Answer: Maybe I'll see you in Marshfield! Drive on! bandit58 Answer: I knew you could do it. Answer: I remember when I did my test last year - huge relief. Though my school was a much better inviroment, I had fun from first day to last day, though now I get to do it all over again with SNI - it'll be good refresher training at least. Good luck on getting a job!! Look out for a Big Orange Pumpkin rolling by, hollar at them to see if it is Rowdy - I'll bye ya cup of go-go juice. Rowdy Pumpkin Drivers Rule!! Answer: Let me just say thank you to everyone concerning my ordeal over the past couple weeks. A special thank you to Hoss. You're very welcome. I was glad to help. I'll get back to you, but it may be a few days if I'm on the road. ******************************* "I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane!"
