Lic.Plates
Question:
I have a question for someone out there.. Im Leased on to a company(I dont have my own Athority) got my plates threw them and paid for them myself...Now that Im quitting they want the plates back or I wont get my escrow back..I was with this company for a Year..Is this right??? Can they keep my escrow??? Thanks!!!!! Answer: You get the plates through the company, even though you paid for them (as per the contract that you didn't read ), you gotta give 'em back. IF you go down and buy your own plates and YOU pay for them (in cash), then they are YOURS! They have 45 days to give you the money they are holding (your escrow). After that, sic a lawyer on them. ******************************* "I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane!" (from Joe Stampley) Answer: I made a post over in the Owner Operators Forum a couple weeks ago about "Buying my own Plates". Go check it out. One thing, if you buy your own plates, they **** you off and you quit on the road, you're truck is still licensed to roll. BUT if you have your own plates but have insurance through the company you WERE leased to, you now, no longer have insurance. The bank (or finance company) WILL INSIST on you getting the truck covered A.S.A.P.! (or else they'll want it back) Do like I did, get your own plate and insurance! ******************************* "I've always been crazy, but it's kept me from going insane!" I Totally Agree...Times like This(you quitting) you'll Wish you had Your OWN. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
