Question:
for any of you that followed the Driver daily log post, yo know i was confused on total hours, turns out "John Q" was so right, I called our safty and compliance dept this morning before i sarted my shift, they said it did not sound right and would investigate it, when I got back in they were there at my location pouring over my logs, well long story short, I get the next 10 days off without pay, I am told they will look into my managers role in this and will deal with him at that time, so for asking my manager on what was right, telling him it did not sound right and then following what he told me to do, I get punished
anyway i guess i got time to put out some apps

It does suck....but not as much as possibly facing a 10,000 fine or worse somewhere some day. Anyway as in OTR circles just try to make your down time productive as you say.

I agree wholeheartdly with the above posts. But, having almost similar things happen to me. I, demanded some sort of compensation. Which i got. A good company wants to keep good drivers. Remember, it takes a lot to get a good dependable driver, a good co. will take notice of that.

Many moons ago I worked for Chevron Geophysical, we would work 11 straight days getting 30 hours of overtime every other week.
Every year we were laid off the last two weeks of the year due to Christmas Holidays and Corporate being shut down...The smart ones (not me) applied for unemployment benefits.
Just an idea, but you'll have to do it now as opposed to later.

a guy called and lieft a message today and said rick ( the location manager ) was gone all day and his office was locked, its never locked, hope he got fired
I put out some feelers today but mostley just bummed around, I am just a bundle of stress nerves, gonna take a few days and relax, then i will hit it hard to find something else, anything else would be better

I would be looking for another job. They may be planning to get rid of you in the near future. You gotta look out for #1.
It would be good if you would be able to get something suitable during your time off. On the 11th day you call & tell them you have another job & won't be coming back.
What is your employeer's name??.....so others here can avoid them.

If you're not going back, delay telling them (or even suggesting it) till you've exhaustd any opportunity for additional compensation.
But on the other hand, if they're really investigating this and make a change, it might be a company worth staying with - especially if they DO give you some compensation (which they can justify denying since you were supposedly earning money ahead of what the law allows, and have in-effect, already been paid for your time-off) I missed the original story, but if they actually follow through and clean house some, you might want to take another look. I'm frankly surprised they even acknowledged a problem. That's very rare no matter how carefully it's documented by the driver.

first I shouldn't tell you the company as i told enough already that it would not be hard to figure out who i am as it is a world wide company and i am sure sombody in high places might be reading and wondering if i am talking about there company so i will just lay low till i get something else, any way they called me back starting monday, my location manager i guess is still there and yes i put out alot of apps so maybe somthing will come out of this
