Husband/Wife Team - ADVICE NEEDED!!!!!
Question:
I have a CDL A but no experience-went to school with USXpress and they got autoshifts,so go figure:I CAN'T SHIFT.I talked to my wife,we are both in the mid 30s,for now she is a waitress, and we are thinking about going to school with Schneider, sign on with them and drive team.Right now we live in SW Florida,Cape Coral-a nice area but very hard getting a job that pays enough to live half way decent-but if we join Schneider we'll be back in NW Pennsylvania(Erie,PA).We have an 18 years old daughter, working after school, better than average kids and she has one more year to finish HS and she'll be with my parents in Erie while we are OTR;if she goes to college, with our pitty jobs,we won't be able to help her much.We want to know how's Schneider Nat'l with teams, how's life on the road husband/wife,money potential and most of it all what to expect from the Schneider Training School/Program.We are sick and tired of working jobs with a dead future.THANKS and BE SAFE!

What happened with the cement trk drving job?

Answer:
If you are wanting to do the husband/wife team thing you would be better off looking into some of the heavily team orieented companies out there such as CRST or Covenent.
I have only once met a hubby/wife team from SNI and they were happy but you couldnt blame them for that as they had themselves a sweet dedicated gig from Louisiana to Oregon and back hauling a loaded tanker out and and an mt one back.
Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe.

Answer:
I know you are no rookie. But, the auto shifting has you in a small bind. You will only be able to sign on with a Co. as an OTR team specifically with an auto shift truck. Unless... you go back to school to learn shifting,(a whole 'nother topic) or someone helps you train. This limits you some. But, more and more schools are training that way. So, more and more Co. are using it. I'm no old salty dog. Went thru school several years ago and made sure I learned shifting (old salty dog made me). I have meet a lot of OTR man/wife teams. Like anything, some make it, some dont. Can be a great way to make a lot of cash fast(or slow), if you stick to the basics of saving and planning. Since you are probably like-minded you should do fine.

Are You Serious!!!
Or did I misread your post.
Who do you think has been answering your posts! This site has more knowledgeable drivers on than any I've seen. And that comes from YEARS of experience.
If you don't like their suggestions or answers then why post?
As the old saying goes-if you can't stand the heat.............
Again, if I misread your post, I'm sorry for this one.

Answer:
I'm sure he did not mean any offense. He was just hoping that more people responded to his post. Also, it sounds he is still learning the truckin' thang.
