I have been hearing about New Hours of Service for a long time but, no one actually has said when they will go into effect or what they are, does anyone know?

very little has been said about the new HOS. The goverment seems to be keeping the propsed HOS revisions pretty close to the belt though a "final" ruling is expected a little later this year.
Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe.

It's government efficiency at work need I say more. I testified at the HOS hearings back in Sept. '99. We've yet to see anything remotely resembling our proposed changes since then. The new HOS has been an "elephant in the corner" regulators have stepped around for years. It's job security for some to keep working on the project. Pretty soon it becomes a perpetual project that has no end.

ive just breifly looked over what they are planning to do but if this results in less drive time for drivers then their pay will most certainly decrease un less carriers raise the pay which in turn will increase shipping costs and eventually be passed to the everyday consumer it looks to me that every one loses everything but sleep
