How much mileage does a newbie get with US Express??
Question:
Wondering if anyone trained with US Express, how much mileage did you get as a trainee.. Answer: I think it's safe to say it would vary for each person. I only recall of knowing a few people that work for U.S. Xpress that post here. Maybe they will come across this thread and provide the information you need. Good luck. I think they're starting pay is around .24 cpm, which is on the low side. Going to Xpress as a newbie might hurt you because they run strictly auto-trannies. First year, my friend made $28,000. Second year he made $32,000. Never made it to his 3rd year because he jumped to greener pastures (I got him in with our company). http://www.subway.com Answer: In my opinion if you have no experience I wouldn't recommend going to U.S. Xpress because they will train you on an automatic. Which will do you no good if you ever switch jobs. If you really want to work there, go to a local school get trained on a manual, then try to hire on with them. I'm sure it would make things easier in the long run. Answer: I can't begin to remember the miles my driver made during training. He went through an accredited course at the local college, then hired on with one company. They burned him bad. Then he switched to USXpress ... took a year off, and went back to them. He is very happy with USXpress ... but that is just one drivers opinion. And by the way, my driver likes the automatics -- esp. in heavy traffic, but then he is one of those drivers that can drive anything he is given the keys to!! Answer: US Express trained me on (what's called ) a super 10. Not in an automatic. We averaged about 3000-3500 miles a week. My bring home pay after taxes was anywhere from $1,200.00-$1,800.00 per week. If I could be with them again , I would. I had NO problems with them at all. Mike Answer: 6000 miles time .50cpm is $3000.00 now a team would split that, thus each getting $1500.00 before taxes, take home would be about $1,000.00 Gods gift to trucking executives, mathamaticly challanged drivers Wyle E.
