So far with Shaffer.....
Question:
Have had a good 2 weeks running since the extended orientation experience. First week ran from home to Charlotte,NC then Anderson,SC to Carlisle,PA then Hershey,PA to Brattleboro,VT then Cumberland,RI to Carlisle,PA then Carlisle,PA (home for weekend) to Browns Summit,NC then Greensboro,NC to Cincinatti,OH then Louisville,KY to Greensboro,NC then Tar Heel,NC to Butler,PA then Cranberry,PA to Carlisle,PA then Carlisle,PA (to my time at home this weekend).....deliver to Browns Summit,NC on Monday between 8am to 4pm. 2300 paid mile first week. 2350 paid miles second week. Decent miles for this slow time of year and have been home 48 hours+ each weekend, and have came by home 3 or 4 hours during each week on loads also. Running northeast regional for Shaffer so far is going very well indeed. Take care to all. GREG - a.k.a. Carlo 82682 "Pain is weakness leaving the body." "Nobody ever drowned in their own sweat." Answer: Carlo I'm in truck 82348. Just got home now this week was a little on the low end for miles but really only worked about 4 days: Left home monday about noon, deliver Browns Summit,NC at 3pm....spend night at T/S, go back to Browns Summit tuesday am and pick up load for Seymour,IN (walmart), drop and hook there on wednesday morning then down to New Albany,IN to pick up load for Fogelsville,PA. drop and hook there on thursday morning, then go empty to yard in New Kingstown,PA to pick up short load to Jersey City,NJ for friday 10am live unload then about 5 miles down road to other warehouse to get load that delivers in Winchester,VA on tuesday morning.....but trying to get it done on monday (if snow and weather permits). So got home 10pm friday.....and here I am Paid Miles.....only about 1,950. Oh well the trucking life is ups and downs, but I'm being treated great GREG - a.k.a. Married Man "Hakuna Matata...Means No Worries" Answer: hey tfg how is that ne regional? what is orintation like, roadtest, very seriously lookingg at shaffer and the ne regional Answer: The NE Regional Division covers: Canada,ME,NH,VT,RI,CT,MA,NJ,NY,MD,DE,WV,VA,PA,NC,SC,OH,KY,TN (maybe a little of IN). You get an extra .02 cents per mile if load picks up and delivers from PA and to the north and east (not canada). New York City is optional but pays $75.00 to go in to 5 boroughs or long island. You are guaranteed home at least 24 hours each weekend and depends most likely where you live....I am home 2 whole days each wknd and usually through house during week. pay starts at .34 per mile (.37 per mile if have 4 or less jobs in last 5 years as long as have 5+ years exp.) of course the .02 bonus is on top of that if in p/u and del. as i mentioned above. medical,dental,vision,401k,prescriptions,life,disability,profit sharing....etc benefits this is slowest time of year but im getting about 2200 miles weekly and thats in 5 or less days working.....i think good this time of year. about 98 percent no touch freight. if you do unload they pay great....$35 just to pull off with pallet jack, $110 minimum if unload whole trailer and break down. very good maintenance of equipment. several terminals (also all crete terminals....since they are parent company). Orientation is 2 days (maybe bit more if drug test results take longer)...its in New Kingstown,PA. they put you in Holiday Inn and pay for your lunch and coupons for dinner in the motel. it has pool...dont forget your suit like i did depending where you live they will bus you or even rent you a car to drive up there. equipment is all very good, 2000 or newer frtlnr centurys (mostly 2001 or newers). all trailers are newer and in great shape. If you have any more questions just post it on here and ill help if i can....or just call my favorite recruiter a real great guy up there: Craig: 1-800-669-1181 I am Greg Smith .....Truck #82348. Hope you give it a shot, i dont think you will be disappointed. It is a reefer company, but from what ive seen and heard you dont sit real long at customers, and is lots of drop and hook. GREG - a.k.a. Married Man "Hakuna Matata...Means No Worries" Answer: ooops forgot your other question: they give you a physical and road test (which is quite simple really....all trucks are straight 9 speeds), and a drug test. GREG - a.k.a. Married Man "Hakuna Matata...Means No Worries" Answer: Just checking things out before turning in for the night/morning. Glad things are going good for you. Sounds like you're having fun too. Carlo 82682 "Pain is weakness leaving the body." "Nobody ever drowned in their own sweat." Answer: carlo, no i got in about 10pm friday night and am supposed to del. in winchester 0800 on tuesday.....but not sure what weather will have to do with that....receiver closed monday so cant call and ask them if they will be in on tuesday....so i guess will try to dig truck out and roll up there. GREG - a.k.a. Married Man "Hakuna Matata...Means No Worries" Answer: ...will be looking for you at "H.Q.". Stopping there briefly enroute to North Haven, CT for Thursday morning. Figure to be there sometime Wednesday afternoon. Hope to hook up at least even if just for a few minutes. Carlo 82682 "Pain is weakness leaving the body." "Nobody ever drowned in their own sweat." Answer: Hey sorry man, but thanks to the big storm...I parked on the street here and am stuck, have been digging out for 2 days now.....got a load that del. in Winchester, but prob. not taking it there til Thursday now, should have truck out tomorrow. Hope to run in to you somewhere eventually. GREG - a.k.a. Married Man "Hakuna Matata...Means No Worries" Answer: What happened to the the rest of the post that were on here.
