TransAm
Question:
Does anybody out there drive for TransAm? I am a newbie and am considering working for them.Have gotten some info from folks here(THANKS!!!) and from the Recruiter(LOL),but would like to hear from someone who has worked there.
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!!!

Answer:
Did you try doing a search? There's a couple guys that's been through here that were drivers for TransAm. They're mostly a refrigerated carrier, so they do a lot of grocery warehouses - seasonal and lots of waiting, etc... Don't remember much of anything bad beyond that, for what it's worth.
Plus, if you're in school, they won't pre-hire you. And you'd better apply before you've been OUT for 30 days, or they don't want you after that, unless you've got 3 months OTR somewhere else.
Do a search, I know there's been plenty of posts about TransAm.

thanks again for the advice . Still working on the search(problems with the server).BTW ,I am still in school, but did get a pre-hire from TransAm. Maybe the have changed policy.

Answer:
But there are two drivers in town here that have been with them for years. I know one joined right out of school and the other had some previous experience.
One thing I can tell you about them though. There is no give what-so-ever on the 30 day after grad rule. So if you decide to go with them do so immediately after school so that way if for some reason you have a problem during orientation you will have some time to fix it. A friend of mine learned this the hard way. He had a minor problem during the physical and by the time he got home, got the problem taken care of he was past that 30 day mark because he waited 3 weeks after grad to go to orientation.
I can tell you this too. My pal talked to the recruiter and to several drivers during his research and he said what the recruiters told him pretty well matched with what the drivers were telling him also.
I will always be a mutter trucker at heart.

Oh, man! I guess they did change. I couldn't get them to talk to me while I was still in school for nothin'! They said they didn't pre-hire.
Well, I guess change is the only thing that's certain. Haha.
