Question:
Have my CDL Permit and was required to take a
Drug Screen before starting school. I have another required Drug Screen the day school starts!
The form said that I may receive a call back from the lab if it turns up Positive asking what Prescription drugs and over the counter drugs I have been taking?
Have never taken any drugs in my 5 decades on this planet, but am concerned about passing because of all that I have heard about how easy it is to fail for one reason or another.
What prescription drugs or over the counter Drugs would give me a Positive reading?
Have a friend who failed a Drug Screen from eating Almond Popee Seed Muffins!

Drug testing is one of the few things that is constant in this industry. Everything else might change, but you will always be tested for drugs.
I think the testing has improved and fewer false positives are being generated. A friend of mine almost lost his job over a postive drug screen, but a discussion with the medical review officer saved him.
His wife gave him some cortizone salve to put on his toes for athelete's foot. Salves are absorbed into your body. The cortizone showed up as a narcotic. Even though he did not have a perscription for the medication, the medical review officer (doctor) wrote the report such that my friend kept his job.
I have heard about poppy seed before, so I quit eating them. Just make a list of all the drugs and medicines you take and provide it to the testing people. That information should be given when you give the sample, not after a positive screening comes back.

You also have to watch the place you are taking the test. If you are not taking a test in a medical facility than more likely than not the result will always be negative. The only time I have seen a positive result was when someone actually had to take one in a medical office. I know this sounds crazy and a lot of people don't think that it matter's but it does. My wife has been in the medical field over 6 years 2 of those years were adminstering drug test.
If you take a pop drug test either at a school or someother location like at a terminal for a company they can't keep the specimen in the right environment to keep it in. Therefore the test usually isn't accurate and is thrown out because it isn't in ideal condition so the tester puts the test as inconclusive and just says it comes up negative. I have seen people I know for a fact were on pot take a pop drug test on site and pass with no problem. I know some of you will think I am out of my mind but I believe it.

i'm trying to get my brother into the industry but i got 2 get him to stop smoking weed 4 a month then me and my mom will go half to enroll him in a trucking school but first he has to take a drug test 4 us b4 we shell out some serious cash for a trucking school.

Well guess what.. get use to the drug testing even after you get out of school. You will be subject to another drug test and physical with the company you choose to drive for. Then after you are hire you will be subject for random testing. In one year the insurance company computer kicked my name out four times.
As far as the doped head, I don't want to see him behind ANY vehicle until he has been clean and can stay clean for a least a year.

If a prospective student who already has his CDL Permit fails a drug test before school starts, how long does he or she have to wait until they can reapply to a school?
I know the rule for drivers failing a test...its a one year suspension of the CDL.

Failing a "drug"test is not automatic grounds for losing your job or for suspension of your liscense.
If a drug test you have taken comes back positive you have the right to appeal the decision and have a second drug test run which is why the urine specimen is divided into two containers. One is used for the drug test and the other is saved in case an appeal of the results is filed and a second test needs to be run.
Also drug tests are much more accurate than they were even a few years ago. They are able to differentiate between possibles and definates better, but at the same time they can also detect smaller amounts of a substance than they used to. As far as what may be able to make a "false" positive reading I really am not sure. I have been told that many seeds such as sesame and poppy can cause a false reading but that you would have to eat pounds of them to get one a day or two before your test. Nurse Red over on the medical forum would be a much better source of info on this.
The big thing here is to make sure that you have a prescription in your name for any medications you are taking that are given by prescription (ie Pain relievers such as tylenol 3 w/ codiene, vicotan, etc also muscle relaxers, and anything else you may be tempted to take that belongs to a spouse of friend) and to provide a list of any and all prescrition medications that you are currently or have taken in the past 30 days. The same goes with over the counter medications.

Kentucky also requires 160 of training, a ratio of 30 students to 1 teacher for classroom, 6 to 1 for off-road training; and 3 to 1 for on-road training.

I DON'T Recommend putting ANY kind of School tuition on a Credit card.
Just think about the Interest you'll pay Before you get it paid off.
