Question:
1 is the lowest 10 is the highest these are overall "opinions" even if you have or have not dealt with the company. Use your own criteria if you need to. There is no right or wrong answer don't post unless you are going to participate I may use the results later on for my new trucking website. Just rate the company 1-10, 1=would not reccomend to anyone at all or even consider going there at all 10=great, outstanding would recommend to my grandma may highly consider going there. If you have never heard of the company or anything about the company then put a 0. It is ok if your opinion is biased that is why it is called an opinion. Thank you ver much. I understand not all carriers are on here but a majority of the nationals are. I will always be a mutter trucker at heart. Answer: CF went Tango Uniform a year ago, you didn't list Covenant's reefer division (SRT). BOL Answer: I'm just curious what SV is up to. Doesn't matter though. Sounds a little fun to me. "Caution: Door May Open" Answer: Thank you very much for your time taking the survey now if only most of the members were as good as you were I would be set the results will be posted on my new trucking website. Answer: Add a company or two if you want/need to. Answer: Here's an idea that might get better results. SV, if you're going to start a trucking website, why don't you put that list up on YOUR web site, and let many different drivers visiting the site rate them out of 1-10. They could also list comments. That way, there would be the opinions of many drivers, instead of just one or two. Also, you may get some people who have actually worked for each of these companies to post. Just an idea. SV, you ask many questions. Are you a driver now, going to become one, or just have an interest in the subject? Since you asked my opinion: WERNER - 7 - (from experience) good training, good benefits, low pay, not good hometime, nice equipment. You are just a number, but a newbie could do a lot worse. SWIFT - 3 - Training is mediocre at best, lousy equipment, too slow for safety in some situations, low pay US XPRESS - 5 - Like manual transmissions for training new drivers CENTRAL REFRIGERATED - 3 - Just about as bad as Swift. COMCAR/WSE - 5 - Lousy benefits, average equipment MILLIS - 4 - Bad training program (from what I have heard) SHAFFER/CRETE - 8 - Good pay, equipment, benefits, rather driver-friendly. Shaffer requires experience, I don't know about Crete, but they are owned by the same parent company. JB HUNT - 6 - Lousy equipment, better than average pay, no jakes, too slow. PRIME - 1 - Newbies stay away. Crooked lease contract. Drive till you drop and wind up broke. Management does not seem to care much for the drivers. COVENANT - 4 - Lousy equipment, average pay, I am not much of a team driver CR ENGLAND - 5 In all these cases, my highest score would be 9, as no company is a perfect 10. [This message was edited by cadillac jack on September 01, 2003 at 15:09.] Answer: I would seriously take another look at the rules of this forum before you blatantly post what you find here on a web site elsewhere. It might be against the rules that you agreed too. Better yet, email R/T's admin which is Monty or Retread/Rose. You might find you could be in a world of chit you don't want if you don't find out first. ****************************** "If you think that something small cannot make a difference - try going to sleep with a mosquito in the room." Answer: I will second what was said by SevenofNine. That is why I said if you want a survey for your own web site, you should make a list of companies and a place for drivers to rate them on the web site you create. If you are asking for personal information on what drivers think is a good company to choose, you can learn that information here. But don't copy anything without prior consent (in writing) of this web site's administrators or you may be in violation of copyright laws. I am not an attorney, but this is a serious consideration. Answer: cannon express---4 celadon---5 conway---5 doubles and lots of forklift driving though covenant---2 cr england---negative 1 heartland---6 jb hunt---3 maverick---4 prime---2 roehl---5 schneider---3 stevens transport---2 us xpress---5 werner---2 Answer: Here's what I know about some of them: Covenant Transport= 3 - dumpy trucks CTI= 8 - Good people to work with, pretty monotonous work though. GI Trucking= 7 - good local carrier JB Hunt= 8 - one of the best of the big carriers Prime= 3 - might not be that bad without that scam of a lease Roadway= 8 - good work, but pretty difficult to get in to Schneider= 9.5 - As close to perfect as a major carrier can get. Swift= 2.5 - not good, but not quite as bad as we let on. Werner= 7 - another of the better large carriers. Yellow= I know nothing about working there, but have had a couple of bad experiences with their service that were never rectified. Answer: Hey, you forgot H.O. Wolding! They are a National Company, AND they hire Newby's. Compared to what I have read about the other companies posted here, I'd have to give it a 10 and will readjust as (if) necessary. Answer: Everyone's ignored "Oak Harbor Freight Lines". Stuffs gave it a 0. It's actually a nice LTL that runs around the northwest -- mostly. I'm always tring to get on with them but being union --- guess what? No turnover! No turnover = a 10 rating for oak Harbor Breight Lines. ....but don't quote me off this sight for your own web site or whatever... Answer: "Stuffs gave it a 0." Read the rules would ya. I've never heard of them. "If you have never heard of the company or anything about the company then put a 0." I forgot one company. "oak Harbor Breight Lines"= 0 "Caution: Door May Open" Answer: Sorry Stuffs - you're right. Just putting in a plug for a good local company up here. I've delivered there a couple times and talked to a couple drivers, etc. Oak Harbor Freight Lines might be a good local day job to check out.
