Anyone care to give me a lift? (Im in the Central Texas area
Question:
Yea, you read right, I figured the best way to see if I want to really do this or not would be to ride along with a trucker, out on the open road, so i was wondering if anyone out there would be traveling thru Austin, Texas anytime in the near future? If you'd like a co-pilot, id love to ride along. Ill pick up your lunch/dinner/and a even pitch in a little fuel $$$$ if your an O/O or if you have to pay for anything---ill pick up the tab. Just wanted to get the "real world" experience. Now it would have to be someone who was headed thru Austin, or the Austin area, then headed right back thru within the next 24-48 hrs. I know thats kind of a weird schedule, but I figured alot of guys might run down I-35 to Mexico to pick up a load and run back north.(Or vice versa) Anyway, if anyone would like to give me a ride for a day, or whatever, shoot me an email. Ill be more than glad to compensate you for it............ runninhorn@hotmail.com thanks! Answer: A joy ride to Larado and back won't give the full effect. Take a ride in your car up to Dallas and spend a weekday evening at one of the truckstops in town.Either the Flying J on the south side or the T/A on the east side. riding the open road is the easy part and if whoever gives you a ride has a easy delivery and a pickup right away, you will get a false impression of the reality of trucking. now if you where with me for the 4 week one,you would say,yeh this is cool and if you where with me for the 2 week or 3 week runs, you would say this is B/S click here one little ride won't give the full effect Answer: Actually, there was a drvr on T/N that has done that in the past.(last yr) I can't remember who it was ...& I'm not sure if he's still doing it. Use TruckNet's Search Feature maybe you can come up with his name & email him. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
