Most employers, when contacted by another company, will only give the dates of employment. Anymore information could open up a "can of worms" which they dont want. That is why DAC has grown into the monster it has become.
I am not sure, Opie could clear this matter up, but I believe that you have the right to see what information that your previous employers gave on you.

Some states have laws in place to protect employers from possible legal action for giving out negative info as long as they can prove what they say. (IE saying they wouldn't hire you back because you were late to work most of the time and have the schedules and your time cards handy as proof should they need it)
Most employers, at least outside the trucking industry, at least will not go beyond verifying your dates of employment. They wont give out good or bad reccomendations.
Within the trucking industry however many companies will go beyond that and list out all info including late on numerous loads, truck abandoment, accidents (even ones that wont show on your lisc.), etc.
Basically if a company can prove what they say about you they are generally safe and can say what they want.
Only two things I know of are infinite. The universe and human stupidity, and I am not real sure about the universe.

3. Work performed, equipment used, etc. (verifies application)
4. Would they re-hire you. (a general yes/no recommendation)
Large corporations (not just trucking companies) generally release just this information to reduce their risk of being sued by the applicant.
However, other information is sometimes exchanged 'off the record' with the understanding that the applicant will never find out.
