Connected to the Internet on the road??
Question:
How do you connect to the internet on the road. I am interested in the satellite connection, but do not know much about it. Thanks for your suggestions.

Answer:
I think that most of the regulars here will chalk your question up as one of the many that has been asked over and over which is probably the reason for no replies.
Try using the search. You'll find several ways.
Myself, I don't like to see any question that I can help with go unanswered.
What I've done that works great is to use my cell phone for a modem. I use Sprint PCS service with unlimited nights and weekends.
The only problem is ofcourse, I'm limited to nights and weekends without cutting into my daytime minutes (which is why I went to unlimited weekends).
Another problem which doesn't happen often is shutting down for the night while being in a roam service area.
As I said, use the search and you'll come up with other ways.
Good luck!

Answer:
Data cable, PCS Connection manager software, vision plan = surfing the internet anytime with no minute usage. Speeds, 70-140. Not bad ,huh ?
Old 2G phone--10-14 speeds, burned your minutes.
I'm sure you smart folks that decided trucking was where you wanted to be can see a difference in the two.
YOU CAN BE A BLACK RACIST. HOW DO YOU THINK I GOT MY USERNAME ?

Answer:
go to a radio shack, not a petro, and get a sprint pcs card, about 250 for your laptop, and then depending on what you are going to do on the net, ie: check email and surf, or download and send alot of pictures, you can get service for 40 to 100 a month. i have the 40 dollar plan and have used it for 3 months and have never gone over the alotted amount of download usage, for 100 you get unlimited . it has been great for me as i used to be a pnv user and now you are hard pressed to find a site that is operational, even when you call they say they are up but it is not true. Good luck
