RIST/ARG Trucking any info?
Question:
Hello fellow newbies, Have any of you heard anything about this company. I believe their an upstate Ny company but i can't find any info on them(i did try the search option.) Nothing there. I keep seeing ads for them in the paper. Before i call them, I'd like to see if any of you know anything about them. Their ads don't give much info just tell you that you need a CDL to apply. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Still looking, Jimmijam Answer: Heres a bit that I know of. They are out of PHELPS NY , RIST TRANSPORT is the van division , haul TL freight mostly east coast. Run Internationals and Macks keep the equipment in good condition. ARG TRUCKING out of the same yard , have a few small yards around upper Ny the haul Bulk PETROLEUM products as well as delivery of heating oils again Int & Mack s. Total they would have 200+ tractors , started up in 1980 - 82 got a NY State grant a few years ago to expand. Answer: I appreciate the info,I guess i should really call them to find out what their all about.I was just curious and thought i'd try here first. Again thanks for your response. Keep well and be safe Still looking, Jimmijam Answer: Ok, here's what I know. Originally, I am from the Albany NY area. In that area, I see RIST, ARG and Earl T Waddams trucks all the time. Waddams hauls milk in sleepers and day cabs. ARG is what Flatbed said, Bulk Petroleum hauler all over the NY area and prolly up into Vermont. There is an ARG driver that lives across the river from my house, his truck is in the driveway every weekend. Then again, we have an ARG terminal in the Port of Rensselaer across the river from the Port of Albany. As for Rist, they do alot of hauling for Pepsi out of the Latham NY Pepsi facility. Not sure though, I see their trailers and trucks coming outta there all the time. They could have containers from Ball Container Corp which has a facility in Saratoga Springs NY. Anyway, RIST is also a big hauler for Shop'N'Save and Hannaford Supermarkets. The Hannaford distribution center is over in Schodack NY. I'm not sure if they haul out of the Scarborough, Maine distribution center anymore. When I was home for the holidays running I-90 into and back outta Massachusetts, I saw all the Hannaford trailers being pulled by the Hannaford Bros. trucks instead of the RIST trucks in NY. I see them running RIST reefer doubles on the Thruway at times as well. Thats about it from the Albany NY area. Mike Look out for Witches, and keep it between the Ditches!
