Schneider Benefits?
Question:
Hey wannabees, Schneider offers an attractive benefit package to make up for the low cents per mile(.25) Not to mention there are not many jobs where you can make 28-30k in 1st yr along with fringe bennies without a college education. Hell they have recent college graduates(Dec 2002)who will not make that much next year I promise you and they'll owe 20-30k for student loans. I know because my wife was one of those graduates a couple years ago. Just wanted to say if you have a family that benefits are just important as pay. Just my opinion. Answer: Over 25 years ago I was an O/O and left due to the price jump of fuel and personal problems. I discovered that computers and I were a perfect match and in twenty years made a six figure income. The IT world tanked and now the knowledge that got you fifty g's without a BS MS PHD (bulls**t,more s**T, piled higher and deeper)gets you twenty to twenty five after you study and past numerous exams and pay an estimated 5 to five grand for school and test help. Sort of a pay back for Y2k; and 9/11 didn't help any! Now you have some of the most educated truck drivers in the world pushing a wheel! This many old hackers and IT folks could make trucking a very intersting place in the next couple of years. Just check around a number of ego sites have been set up by IT folks that have made the jump to behind the wheel. Granted driving is not stress free but compared to some of the IT schudles we used to follow 15 hour days are normal for IT folk. Combined with commute time to NYC and other things well lets sit back and see what these old stressed out folks do to the industry. Hell even the pumpkinheads new CEO is an old IT guy. This could get interesting and maybe even funny image Dilbert starts driving a truck Answer: It used to be that you could go to school, learn to program the computer and get a good paying job. Those days are long gone. Today if you do not have 3 to 5 years current work experience programming computers you are close to un-employable. Spend hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars getting an education and you still can't qualify for a job. If you have a clean record and a CDL at least one of the training companies will hire you as a new driver. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
