I drive for maverick transportation out of litle rock ar.They are a great company and have an outstanding load securement class. The only thing is they are switching the fleet over to automatics.Not sure if that is good for a newbie.Check them out.

Most trucking companies mistreat their drivers, so its pointless to go job-hopping from one carrier to another. Look into hourly-pay, local work. If you don't qualify, be patient and build up your verifiable driving history. Try to average no more than one employer every 18 months. Job-hopping will disqualify you from good-paying companies like the supermarket grocery chains. Ask your boss if you can transfer to a dedicated account; it pays hourly, salary, or per mile plus per stop.
