Question:
I'm looking for a driving position in Florida. It must get me home daily, pay $40k anually and no dirt hauling.I'd like to stay out of otr, kinda fed-up with it.I rather have a home life and be able to go hunting again. But,need to make a decent living.
Answer:
I have it on good authority, you should become a manager at a Mickey Ds.I will buy coffee at the TA or Petro

Answer:
Good luck.
Answer:
Have you looked into hauling oranges?
Answer:
Haul forest products. BOL

Answer:
camo, in Florida you can make $40,000 a year, but, you'll most likely work 10 to 12 hours a day, 6 days a week to make that at most local trucking jobs in Florida.
Hauling Gas for """SOME""" companies if you can get hired on.
Or
Running LTL.....Maybe that much $$$$,,,, a big "Maybe".... Figure about $30,000 to $35,000
LTL freight with Overnight.
Southeastern.
Averet Express.
OR
Publix
Winn Dixie.
Albertson's
Food Lyon
Union LTL???? Start as a causal for x numbers of years.
UPS, the same, start as a causal just before Xmas.
"""SOME"" Beer distributors, you can make that much with the right route.
Line haul LTL is probably out of the equation. You'll most likely have to work X number of years for an LTL company before you'll get a line haul gig.
Good luck, typically drivers do not quit,,driver turnover dam near non existent,,,that are making that much $$$ in Florida....
That is why most trucking jobs you see advertised is for hauling cement or rock at low wages. big driver turnover in these areas of trucking.

Answer:
u can make 40,000 be home everyday, do like me, come pull a rolling bomb..i forgot to tell you though, you will be working 12-15 hours a day and at least 5 days a week (like me), so you will be home, home long enough to sleep and shower and go back to work, u get to see your family less than when you are OTR. There's your answer on how you can make 40k

Answer:
10 to 15 hours a day leaves 14 to 9 hours a day to be home with your family. You also get two days off a week to be home with your family if your only working 5 days. That's beats OTR every time.
I would rather have that schedule than to get 1 day a week off or 3 days off for every 3 24/7 weeks on the road.

Answer:
I like my schedule. leave monday, return tuesday afternoon, leave thursday, return friday afternoon. Do nothing on saturday and sunday that involes a truck. Park at warehouse, not at home.

Answer:
I was at the right place at the right time and got a great job here. I've been here for a while but lost my license. The company wouldn't let me go out (of course) until I got a new one. It took 3 weeks due to getting the corect ID according to the new DMV and CDL regs. When I walked in the office with the paper copy in hand they had just fired the guy who had my job. He failed a random. I was there, had a great track record with them (wouldn't have got it if I didn't), didn't have a truck, and they needed some one right then. So they tossed me the keys to the Day Cab. Now I'm home 3 nights a week and off two days on the weekend and spend the two nights on the road in a Hotel company paid. I am usually 1.5 hours from home and I run out of hours so that's why the hotel stay. I work appx. 55 hours a week and do a split pay, mileage / hourly / detention/layover. I won't go back to OTR unless it was for a very short time.

Answer:

let me rephrase ok..take a shower at 1415 hours to leave the house by 1445 to get to work by 1515..work from 1515 till roughly 0500, then go back to terminal, finish paperwork drive home arrive by 0545am, go to bed around 0600am, sleep for roughly 6-7 hours, get up and have 1 to 1.5 hours to read paper, drink coffee and see your family..gee sounds like alot of time to me..
