KLLM?
Question:
Ok, I did a search on this company on this site and went to their website. I didn't come up with a consensus one way or another on this company.
Pay? Saw on good and bad reports that a guy was left owing them $1.09 of his first paycheck while he waited to be reimbured for lumper fees. Is this still going on or have they changed?
Average hometime for regional?
Average miles for regional?
Training?
Average layovers?
Any other up to date info on this company?
Average weekly pay check for newbe?
Thanks in advance.

Unless you are filthy rich, STAY AWAY FROM KLLM! I drove out of their Atlanta terminal as a "southeastern regional driver" -- VERY EXPENSIVE MISTAKE. Like all of the big trucking companies, their recruiters lied about pay, hometime, ect... BUT what they don't tell you is what it cost YOU to drive for them. Being a refrigerated carrier their drivers have to deal with a lot of grocery warehouses. Most of which, do not even allow drivers to unload their trailers - you HAVE to hire their lumper service. The average cost to unload is around $200.00. Well, with KLLM you have to call the company, ask for the amount for unloading to be put on your COM-DATA card, (in other words, they advance YOU the money) then it takes SEVERAL weeks to get reimbursed!!! When I first started with this company on my first paycheck I could not believe that this was how they operated. I was really expecting a decent paycheck, only to find out my "pay summary" stated "total pay: -$1.09"!!!!! Yes, not a missprint.I owed the company $1.09. Well, I figured after a few weeks maybe it would all even out - WRONG! Every time, (only a few) weeks that I thought that next weeks check should be fairly good, sure enough, they would give me loads that I had to pay to get unloaded. I really believe that my dispatcher monitored my pay and when it reached around $300.00 she would see to it that I got a load that I had to pay to get off. Several times, I would be at the terminal in Atlanta and they would give me loads there on the yard - (some brought there even by OTHER REGIONAL DRIVERS - their pets) that needed to be delivered there around Atlanta. They only pay $40.00 for "short haul" to the driver, but in most cases the driver has to Pay $200.to get unloaded! True they will reimburse you, but you have to keep up with it. It usually takes two to three weeks!! Its very hard to keep up with because your pay stub that is mailed home is always two weeks old. On several occasions, they tried to not pay me claiming they did not receive the lumper recipet, BUT I ALWAYS MADE COPIES, and sent another one in. But this just delayed me getting reimbursed another week. As I told my dispatcher when I quit I CAN MAKE MUCH MORE MONEY DRIVING A LAWNMOWER THAN I COULD EVER MAKE WITH KLLM.

Yes a lot of companies advance you the money to pay lumpers on Comdata etc... and then reimburse you when recipts are sent in with paper work. (my company does this)
Keeping good records and assuring you have done your part to be reimbursed, should in fact get you reimbursed.
I have never had a discrepency while using this type of payment operation because I write everything down (ie. time, location, ComCheck #, ComCheck Authorization #, who authorized it, when they authorized it,etc...), and keep copies of any and all recipts---if my reimbursement is not on my check I have all the ammunition and evidence I need to fight them and win.
I'm guessing the guy who filed the complaint at realdrivers/idoDac did not cover his azz, and of course a company is going to take advatage of this. (not saying it's right, or morally acceptable)
Personnaly, I would have to further research this company or any company, before taking the word of one discruntled ex-employee.
Good luckIt's apparent this place is never going to change....then again; why should it? It gets the clientel it deserves.

Been 5 years since I drove for KLLM and I see they haven't changed a bit.
I drove Northeast regional and had no problems. They, at that time, paid 25% of the load. Oh, sure there were times I had to call and chew their butts out for not getting the money to me but always got it the next pay check.
I relocated and decided to go OTR for them because there wasn't any regional where I'm living. That was the biggest mistake of my carreer. It was like night and day between OTR and Northeast regional. The regional operation ran a neat, organized ship.
Two weeks with only a pay check of $23 and $45 because they were so far behind and unorganized with reimbursment to the drivers, I parked the truck at Jackson and said adios!
My sugguestion to newbies looking to get into OTR, stay away from reefer carriers. Most are all about the same but KLLM is in my opinion, is the worst. You can't make money when you are constantly shelling out of your own pocket for lumpers.
