Harley Dingo Boots Harley shop in Paramount Ca. 179.00 for work & PF flyers when Intimidator is chasing me
Answer:

Hmmm... must be a Texas thang. Ten gallon optional?

No Dweller "flip flops"?

Answer:
For boots when loading/unloading (I don't hire lumpers) or on customers property I wear the free SNI steel toes that were given to me after orientation. Vans or Airwalks when I'm driving I'm 23 I didn't even know what the hell PF Flyers were until I saw the movies The Sandlot .
Answer:
Yea it's a Texas thang.. Actually the steel toed part is required the Justin's just make me feel better.
I have never worn flip flops.
Here's a clue as to what not to wear. Do not buy any cheap azz slip on make believe tennis shoes or any cheap azz slip ons with Zippers. Keep your shoes clean. There's nothing worse than some person trying to dress nicely wearing a pair of worn out nasty looking Walmart shoes.

Answer:

shoes in general. Ya gets what ya pay for.
Non slip oil/chemical resistent soles recommended.
Answer:
Awesome tips.
Any suggestions on rain gear?
I start orientation with a company on Monday. Do homework on what I will need so I when I go to training.
Thank you again!
Be safe out there.

Answer:
rockport walkers

Answer:

I used a Rain Suit, seldom using the pants.

They should inform you as to what the essentials are in orientation.
Just a suggestion,I wouldn't invest a lot of money in any equipment until after training.
This vocation may not suit you.
Answer:
I also used the rain jacket more than the pants. If your going to be doing Flatbed or any type of loading or securing from the outside get a set with pants. I bought my suite at a Bealls outlet a few years ago and it's still in good condition. I've used it allot. Like any thing you buy don't get the cheapest but there's also no need for a 200 dollar set from some sporting goods store either.

Answer:
I do wear flipflops if the weather is nice, always have, just hate shoes. Scotts of Hawaii Makaha's $25
When at a customer or when the weather is cooler, a decent walking tennis shoe, Nike or Rebok purchased at one of the outlet stores for around $50.
In bad winter weather I wear my Danner Hood Winter lites with gortex and thinsulate. I think I paid around $200 13 years ago.

Answer:
I wear Boat Shoes mostly
I have steel toe insulated 6 inch work boots (Herman brand) for bad weather.
I've been looking for CAT insulated steel toed 8 inch work boots. Wal-Mart use to sell them, not anymore. I need to p/u another pair.
They are made buy Wolverine for CAT, nice work boots. Comfy.
3/4 length down parker rated for -10 below. DAK stays warm...LOL
An old kicker jacket I've had for more 20 years now. It's an old Sears "Work and Leisure" brand down jacket. Still in good shape after all these years.

Answer:

Well, looks like I am on the direct train to hell. I prefer the velcro laced cheapie walking shoes from Walmart for my driving shoes. I think they run me between 10-15 buck a pair, and I simply buy a new pair every 3 months or so if the appearance starts to go downhill. Cheap, comfortable, and they make me happy. I just don;t think that they are a "one pair a year" thing, and nthey work just fine.
Then when I need boots for working, I slip on the Red Wing steel toes I carry in the truck with me. They are made with the entire boot made of Cordura nylon lined with Goretex, moisture can't get in, but my feet stay dry and comfortable. As long as the paperwork's clean, you boys can do whatever you want to out on the road" Mad Max ...1979

Burky, maybe I should look into those Red Wings.
The Cat boots have a Cordura nylon lining too, but with "Thinsulate" linings
Those are comfortable whether your in 115 degree desert heat or -10 below.
I still want steel toe, not because I necessarily need steel toe work boots. I like them because the steel keeps the boot toe in shape without that "collapsed" flatten out look at the toe after a while.
