Are companies doing orientation really needing copies of birth certificates? I have not seen mine in many years. For all I know it is lost forever. Anyone know if they really need them?

Don't know about companies requiring them but I know they are now required to get the Hazmat endorsement. With Homeland Insecurity doing it's thing with trucking no doubt companies will soon have to have them if they don't already.
There are a couple online companies that can get them for you with a little information and a few bucks. I had to get mine for the Hazmat renewal and it only took a little over a week.

Skip the online companies and go right to the city clerk's office in the city where you were born . You can order your birth certificate online from most .
