What should I take...?
Question:
I am as excited as a "pig in slop"! Had my final telephone interview yesterday with CFI and I am starting school at Crowder College in Neosho Missouri on January 8. I do have a question for the pros out there, what does someone need to take to a January class with them?
Thanks!
Answer:
#1 suggestion ... a winter coat!
Might as well throw in some raingear and waterproof shoes also.

Not knocking you or your chances, but the site is full of stories about people who didn;t make it through a school, and then didn't have enough money with them to get back to home. is cfi hiring newbies and sending them to driving school?
what pay are they starting them at?

Answer:
What Burky said.
Bring your credit card[s] and or your ATM card.
You may be hoofing it back home.

Answer:

If approved, you pay $1,000 and CFI picks up the rest of the tap.....And NO contract to sign, just pull that first solo load succesfully and your obligation is complete. Their pay scale for newbies is a little on the low side though.....
Starting Pay:
.26cpm while out with a trainer (2-3 weeks, 7500 miles driven with trainer)
.28cpm when you upgrade to your own company truck
.30cpm at 60,000-89,999
.32cpm at 90,000-119,999
.35cpm at 120,000-124,999
.36cpm at 125,000+

trapper52,
Years ago, Many carriers use to require two years OTR experience, including ice/snow/mountain experience before you got behind the wheel of one of their trucks.
They made it tough to get into trucking years ago.
I drove local for years and still could not get in OTR with many carriers. I didn't have OTR or ice/snow/mountain exp. They wouldn't even talk to me!
