Question:
Do you have to change your tires when going through areas that require so? What can you plan to make 2nd, 3rd 4th,... year say working for the BIg Orange or Swift. What is the exct schedule/timeline of the training from start to getting your own truck say with Big Orange or Swift Does anyone have input for Michigan. I live near Detroit now, but would like to move up north West Branch area or close to I-75, do they still hire and will they let you take your truck home with you. Any situations out there. Answer: You do not have to change tires, but if you run areas that have chain requirements (primarily west in the mountains) then you will be required to carry chains on the truck and put them on to proceed. Should you elect not to put on chains, then you will not be allowed to go along. As for the income rise at some of the carriers, some people do stay and see their income rise a bit, but a lot of people use the training as a stepping stone to a better job with someone else once they have accumulated some experience. None of the large carriers pay an excessive amount, but if they are paying on a cents per mile basis there are usually some increases figured in as you stay there. Schneider has drivers throughout most of Michigan, and as long as you are relatively near a well populated area and a major highway, you shouldn;t have a problem. Whether you can take the truck home or not is going to depend on your proximity to a terminal, your secure parking and some other factors. Each company has it's own rules and you have to see where you and your situation fit in to those rules. As long as the paperwork's clean, you boys can do whatever you want to out on the road" Mad Max ...1979 Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
