Best logging software?
Question:
Which is the best logging software to use? I have seen them at all diferent prices. I downloaded one that is made more for an owner operator with a payables program etc... Is there one that is better then another. I will be a Company Driver not an O/O, if that makes any difference? Just trying to decide wich program to get. Answer: One of the best is Drivers Daily Log (DDL). You can go to the below link and scroll down to the trial version. Just follow all the information correctly if you decide to buy it. http://www.driversdailylog.com/ddldownload.htm Answer: I use a program called "loggit yourself" Its a pretty amazing package. It works without a printer, or even a computer. The only system requirements are a good ink pen, a ruler, a pocket calculator, and ... one thing some drivers lack ... a BRAIN First thing you need to check is whether whatever company you plan on driving for will even accept computer generated logs. Most will not. Of the ones that do, only a few of the largest of them will have printer drivers for programs like Drivers Daily log. So chances are good you will not even be able to use software. The math involved in calculating hours available to drive is pretty simple. It hardly requires a computer. I can do it faster myself that I could type it all into a computer. Answer: Chances are good you will use it everyday. Who cares what the company accepts. You use it to double check your log for accuracy. It can save you a few nitpicky log violations from your safety dept. and from making stupid mistakes. When your new stupid mistakes are easy to make. I use to use it all the time just to make sure.
