intrastate cdl jobs question
Question:
My younger 19 year old brother enrolled into class a cdl license truck driving classes this week to get his intrastate since his age.
The question im asking for him is what kind of jobs are available and will he have a hard time finding jobs?
Answer:

Have you tried the local help wanted ads for an answer? The question should have been asked before
commiting to schooling.
Answer:
If he hasn't been arrested or in jail, doesn't take drugs, doesn't mind living away from home and passes the school -- he can probably get a job. But as RABELAN said, these things whould be considered before he enrolls in a truck school. Preferably, he should research this and other questions himself. This is a serious business with a lot of potential problems and risks. Hopefully he's serious enough about this that he's found out what he's getting into, wants to do it, and is capable of navigating himself through the job research process. If not, frankly, it's unlikely he'll be able to handle a driving job even if he gets one.
Have him sign-on and start asking questions himself. Is he taking this seriously?

Answer:
More than likely he is looking at day jobs until he's 23 or so. But not having a clue where your at kind of limits any response.
If your in texas or another large state he'll stay busy but the money won't be great.

Answer:
since he's still young, he won't be able to get hired by the major companies. he has a chance at the local dump truck jobs, furniture stores, and being a mover if he likes to lift funiture and stay in shape. i did that for a while until i was 25 and moved on to bigger and better things. there's probably more jobs out there, but you gotta find them, good luck.

Answer:
Yes he already started,Of course hes serious and he can handle it,Thats not the problem or question he or i was asking or concerned about. He wasnt even interested in driving for any major companies otr, even when he gets older since he dont want to go otr when he gets to that age and because the small ugly trucks that otr drivers drive are rediculus, uncomfortable and give you back problems, cramps, and hemroids
Well he thinks that not me.Anyways.
Nah No furniture or dump truck That was funny.
I figured id get him a job where i lease to. so he can become an o/o but thats unlikely because some truck financing issues he dont want to invest in.I been driving for 8 years and he is more serious than me and proved it since I think he rather be on the road driving than me.Now i dont belong on the road
I guess due to a family of consistent million mile safe drivers. My father actually got him into driving after recently retiring at h-e-b as a top driver and Driver Trainer there with over 3 million safe miles in 25 years.I guess it starts around there.
Nope no jokes just seems kind of intimidating due to the age but the schooling wont be a waste of money but more of a job quest run around because some people lie and dont like people to succeed like they used to back in the old days.Nowaday people just care about themselves.
I guess we will just wait and see.Im sure there will be some jobs around the pee on 30-40k low range otherwise the company shouldnt even be placing an ad or expecting a driver to come work for any less because that would be a joke and in all my years i never seen any driving jobs pay less and in my first year with no experience i was making in that range but in all words thanks for any help possible and hopefully after doing some homework and seeking im sure he will get into a truck.Im even interested in schooling since it always looks good on paper.
Got a copy on that Dwiver?
.COME ON!
Answer:
Good luck to both of you!

Answer:
I don't know what your saying, but. Like everyone stated previously he can drive locally mainly driving big pieces of $hit, for construction/supply companies. I started at 20 and got lucky and found a local construction company to drive with for the season until I was 21 (Here in California). The age issue usually has nothing to do with laws it all has to do with insurance requirements. Most companies insurance requirements (big or small) almost always require a driver to be 21, 23, 25. Trust me I am young and I still have this problem from time to time, not as much anymore though. But if your brother thinks he will be Billy Big Rigger driving across Texas in his tricked out Pete, home every night, well all I have to say to that is, not anytime soon. Plus don't lease on anywhere also your brother can't even lease on until he is 21,23 and he can't go out of state until he is 21. Good luck to the both of you.

There has to be some sort of company? Your even referring the PEE ONS? Then why is there intrastate licenses? Just for family owned and operated companies that need their children to drive?
What I dont understand is that why are there intrastate licenses if that is so true. Can older people get intrastate licenses such as 30-40-50 year old folks?
What are you referring to as big pieces of (edited)?
