DAC
Question:
I have a couple of questions about DAC reports. I have never been employed in the trucking industry, but plan to begin CDL school in Jan. If I was to request a copy of my DAC report would there be anything available, or do you need to have some sort of trucking history to be in the system? I ask because I would like to know if two things will show up there. Number 1 is that I have gotten two speeding tickets in the past 5 years. I hired a law firm to contest them and "won" the cases, but still ended up having to pay court costs. The second issue is that I have an 30 year old felony conviction from when I was a teenager. I am hoping that it occured so long ago (in the pre-computer era) that it may not be in the system. I don't want to get caught lying on a job application, so knowing what would turn up on my report would be a huge asset. And finally, does anyone know the procedure whereby I can request a copy of my DAC report? Thanks. Answer: If I was to request a copy of my DAC report would there be anything available, or do you need to have some sort of trucking history to be in the system? No, there'd be nothing there if you've never had a CDL. Go to usis.com and the process for getting a DAC copy is there. If you're unemployed, it's free.. Get a copy of your DMV record, shouldn't cost much, then you'll know what an employer will see. As long as the latest ticket is at least 3 years old, you may be good to go. 30 year old felony conviction from when I was a teenager. Was your juvenile record sealed? Ask for an expungment if you've lived a lawful life since. You should be able to get a copy of your "criminal" record from the court where it was ajudicated. Check the website for the same court, maybe it's on the there and you can see what it says. Or got to a cop shop and ask 'em to do an NCIC check. BOL Answer: But ... a carrier may run a credit check on you .... and it is governed by the same laws as DAC .. you have to agree to it .. As for the other issues ........ the answers were correct .. start at your DMV and work it out ... Answer: DAC/ USIS There are a number of Companies outside of the trucking industry that use this service. That info you should be able to find on their web site going thru the links. Answer: How to get your DAC report I agree on the DMV for a report of your license history information. It would hurt to take Sealords advice and obtain your NCIC report as well. The laws governing each vary state to state. Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
