wet driving observations
Question:
this is my second season for me driving in the rains and it rained for the first time this year out here in california. i drive an average of 75 miles a day with 90% of it city driving and it seems like the idiots are amplified 10 fold. they will pass me up and get in front of me to jam the brakes for a turn or parking lot entrance. thank goodness the way i drive im thinking that everyone on the road is an idiot and keep a keen eye out for those guys passing by me, expecting them to jump in front of me. i also learned last year that the trailer will kick out when the brakes are jammed on in the rain, so from the members here i learned that the brakes need to be pumped when stopping abruptly - thanks guys

Answer:
What part of California do you drive ? I went to SanFrancisco last week for frist time.
The San Francisco / Oakland Bridge is one pain in da azz. Wll maybe because I didnt know what I was doing as for lanes and toll booths. Drove over 1.5 miles at 2 mph and nobody would let me change lanes. When there was a space to grab Hahaha a car would jump in front of me. It was raining this day also.
But I still think Chicago is the worst place to drive in the rain. Especialy with all the road work going on. Drivers there dont slow down for nothing <cough, cough> Including truckers
Answer:
IM 50 MILES SOUTH OF SAN FRAN and its actually alot dryer down here and we didn't get any of that storm last week. i would not want to take a rig into san francisco especially in town.

Answer:
Rain is nothing. Ive got a thing for rain. I took my CDL road test in the pouring rain and I took my check ride in the pouring rain. You're right about idiots though, it doesnt matter what the weather conditions are.
This winter will be my first opportunity to drive in freezing conditions. Bring it on!.

Answer:
I did that once. Made a left, when it shoulda been a right.
Just one of the reasons I prefer to arrive late at night.
The pay off was that I woke up with a view of the SF Bay. The water was a couple of feet, from my passenger door.
I never bothered checking the schedule for the tide.Government Ain't YO' Friend. Nor your Servant.
A Tax Reduces Incentive & Capacity. A Regulation is also a TAX.

Answer:
I did that in San Diego. Had a great time. Parked the truck on the beach and walked the pear. I ate at a small stand and showered at a boat dealer I had dropped at the day before. I wish I had brought my fishing poles that time. I had them from then on though and used them alot. Places like that were one of the small perks of hauling boats.
