9 speed shifting
Question:
Trying to find out the spread and speed between each gear .what is number of rpms the engine would stall? it is a swift truck. so maybe a volvo with a cumins Answer: Roughly 150-200 rpm's between gears. A lot depends on the internal ratios in the trans. They can differ. As long as the paperwork's clean, you boys can do whatever you want to out on the road" Mad Max ...1979 Answer: Don't worry about the speed at which to shift a gear.....................Pay attention to the RPM spread for the truck you are driving. This will vary, most will be about 250 to 350 rpm spread. Once you figure this out, up or down it will always be the same. Match it properly and just shift. (If truck school rookie-double clutch). As to stall, this will only happen if you brake down, as truck will happily idle along about 600 rpm in about any gear (unloaded that is). Just pay attention to you instructor.''
