Welcome to Live Dialogue !!!

Do not expect Respect.
Question:
You will not be given any respect, at all.
Sorry if the truth hurts.
The unvarnished truth is the greatest kindness.
If you want Respect, you gotta start with yourself.
If you have no self-respect, nobody will care.
If you want respect, you have to earn it.
Regardless of what the bleeding heart liberal will say.
Some fellow crybabies might feel sorry for you, though.
Shoot, you want me to feel sorry for you?
I'll be happy to.
How do you earn respect?
Start with learning some manners. There is more to manners, than sir and ma'am.
You having a bad day?
Poor baaaaabeee. Want me to feel sorry for you?
Somebody overcharge you, for a product or service?
Be nice. Pay in full, with a smile.
Somebody cost you some time, out of your day? week?
Be nice. Deal with it, with all the grace you can muster.
A word to the wise.
The people you deal with, are about as miserable as you.
Be nice.
You may be surprised.
Whether you are a rookie, just out of trucking school, or a 3 month wonder, or an owner/operator, or a carrier with a small fleet of trucks,
You are first and foremost, a business person, whether you know it, or not.
Not enough pay?
Want me to feel sorry for you?
Not enough home time?
Want me to feel sorry for you?
Not enough anything?
Want me to feel sorry for you?
Learn some manners.
Be nice.
Make your decisions, and then carry them out, as best you can. If you stumble, Want me to feel sorry for you?
Or, would you rather take responsibility for yourself, and learn to make better decisions?Government Ain't YO' Friend. Nor your Servant.

Answer:
Hey, what was that all about?
When I go to work at a motor carrier--or, any employer, really--I expect respect from the "get-go", and look forward to reciprocating in kind (showing respect for the employer, that is).

Answer:
Ok, ok...I respect you... ..BTW..did you get this weeks envelope?... LIARS SUKK

Answer:
Damn 55 did somone snatch a knot in your drawers!
Big

Answer:
Looks like a 55sams copy and paste job. It is true enough when it comes to trucking. I expect nothing from my company except a pay check in the correct amount. So far I haven't been disappointed. That is respect enough for me.

Answer:
If my recall is right, the thing that prompted this, was hearing somebody complain about getting no respect.
Then, I looked around at different people. And, I see how some people get bowled over, at a slight breeze. Others stand up equal to a big blow.
I was hoping for a vigorous debate, because I hadn't pulled anybody's chain, at all, that day. I had a particular direction, that I was going to take, at the time.
As an experiment, I took some things that come natural, to me, and combined with some psychological techniques that I saw again, and it didn't take much of a change, to see a big difference, in the way people react.
I applied the technique on a service writer, in Ft. Worth. He shook my hand, before he finished writing up the work order.
While I didn't get the hand shake, I saw similar results, with a plant manager, while I was almost in his face, telling him what was what, about his property. on my wagon.
I doubt it will ever fulfill my original objective, because I'm confusing myself, again.
The ulterior motive was the sticky slamfest. Government Ain't YO' Friend. Nor your Servant.

Which pretty much explains why there is so much crap in trucking (and other lines of work).
Too many people afraid to stand up for themselves and not put up with being treated like crap.

Answer:
Some of us have too much life under our belts (not to mention a pension) to take too much crap off these companies..
I don't expect respect or a civil attitude from the companiy's clients; that's a given...however I do expect a fair amount from my immediate manager and higher ups...If it's all give (on my part) and no take, I'll hit the road in a heartbeat. And they know it. Do they care? I doubt it.....
