I want to hear from different drivers that drive for Old Dominon and drivers from Vitran. I have either job and would like to know which company will be better long term.

Answer:
There is an OD driver who comes in here from time to time. He has had nothing but good to say about them. When few people talk about a company and have complaints about them it is usually a sign they are better than most.
You can drop Beeman or BANANA Unit #1 a PM and ask for info. Beeman runs teams for them and the Banana runs solo.

Research my previous posts and they will give you a description of my job at OD. I don't know what job you are applying for or what terminal. I can tell you that OD has grown tremendously in the last 5 years and they have obvious plans to grow more with additional terminals planned to open in the coming year. OD has recently purchased 2 other carriers, WSKT and UW which has helped expansion. The company has been buying new trucks, trailers, and dollys. Existing terminals have been renovated and enlarged or larger terminals have been purchased. I don't know of a terminal that isn't needing more drivers and teams are in great demand right now.
Of course there are downsides since it's a job just like every other job. I don't know a thing about Vitran or how they work. I think OD is a good bet as either they will continue to grow and things get better or like others they will be bought out by a bigger company and any that would buy us seem OK too.
