Question:
I think I am definitly set on Roehl. Just for the boards sake primarily mine, what are the average miles you get and where do you primarily run to? When they decide to accept me where do you go to training? How do they get you there? If so it would pretty nice if you filled your tanks in Gateway T/S and gave me a ride to either Gary or Marshfield in case they try to give me bus ride. E-mail me at fastyzf6@charter.net TimThis is USAF 2T2 and I approve this message. Answer: Where were you yesterday morning? I was at Gateway waiting for a relay! Love the consrtuction zones in the area! Made it back to the house about 7:30 last nite! Time to take Mama out to breakfast! I saw the exit for Ofallin, thought of you! So far so good back at Roehl, if you get on be sure and give me your truck number so I can look for you! Already saw Buzz's, alas he was sleeping at the time! I'm in 3360 it's an International (red) Drive on! bandit58.... Answer: Ok Roehl drivers. I need to know, just cause i do. I sat and talked with 2 ex Roehl drivers Friday. Not that I wanted to but because my truck was in the shop and so was theirs. Besides they insisted so i inquired but not to much. Both stated they left Roehl because they were tired of never knowing how much their pay check would be and they were tired of getting $50. checks. I never could figure out exactly why they got so small of checks. But it did seem it happened regularly. So whats up with that? How does it happen and why would it be happening on a regular basis. They did make claims to waiting a lot some weeks. I think I'll post this in the Roehl post also. "Caution: Door May Open" Answer: Sorry for the late reply. I was home this weekend and did not log online once. Average miles, this is a tuffy. Since I have been on milage pay I have "averaged" 2800 a week. This is running flatbed. Last week I only hit 2400 miles, but I had a trailor blow an airbag so I lost a days running there. If it had not been for that breakdown I would have broke 3k. It screwed everything up. Also I got shot through the house this past weekend. I was hoping to get a long run but that did not pan out. As far as primary lanes, where ever there is freight we go, LOL. So far I have been in every state east of the Mississppi with the exception of FL. West of the river I have been in TX,AK,MO,IA,NE,WI,MN. I was to go out west just to see something different. Hate running up in New England, but I think every one does. I have been running alot of loads down south the past few weeks. As far as orientation, you get 3 choices, Gary Marshfield and Atlanta. Well not sure if they have it set up for Atlanta yet, but it is on the drawing board. Training will be with what ever trainer is available at the time. Transportation to Gary, there are a couple ways you could do it. You could drive your POV and park it at Gary or you could have a family member drive you to the hotel, make sure you save your fuel receipts, you will be re-imbursed. Bandit, I am now in 3040. I moved into this Condo last week so I could run with a phase II guy for 8 days. I expressed my lack of enthusiasm(sp) about moving in and out of trucks, and got to keep the condo for now. Stuffs, Well, I can't talk for everyone, but I have NEVER had a $50 check. My guess is these drivers had service failures. They probally arrived at the consignee with just enough time on the books to drive to a T/S to shut down for 8 hours. Or they were plain lazy. Or they had a POS for a fleet manager. My guess probally a little bit of all of the above. Buzzdog [bold] DRIVER BY CHOICE [/bold] Buzzdog Answer: From Dec 1 2001 to Nov 30 (31?) 2002 I was DISPATCHED for 115,652 miles. (2,224 ave/wk) I was out 302 days. For the most part, I went out 10-11 days. Out Monday, home the following week Thurs/Fri. Back out Mon/Tues. Mostly stayed east of the Rockies. If I stayed out longer (a few times) I ran west coast. I had a few $0 checks, but that was dependant on if I got my trip jacket in before noon on friday. I ran a Oregon to Georgia run (2700 miles) Picked the load up on Friday, delivered on Wednesday (1 day early/OK per customer). Still couldn't get trip jacket in by Friday. Also could happen if you have a short week (Hometime). Going to change this fall where you will be able to scan info to Roehl. No trip jackets. Pay will come alot sooner. I knew some guys who didn't trust the US Mail, and would hang onto trip jackets for 10 days or more until they could drop it at a terminal. You only get paid AFTER Roehl receives trip jacket. Answer: Going to change this fall where you will be able to scan info to Roehl. How will this work? Semper Fi, Wayne Answer: Starting September 1st trip jackets will be a thing of the past for Roehl. We have been given the new trip sheets. These have a bar code and are numbered. They have the same information on them that the trip jackets had. You fill in all of the information just like before. All of your other paper work for the trip you keep together with the trip sheet. Most Pilot's have a scan station. Roehl will have scan stations set up in Marshfield, Gary, Atlanta, and Iron Mountain MI. What you do is gather all of the paper work for the trip (toll receipts, shipping papers, scale tickets, etc). For items that are too small to scan, i.e. toll receipts, you just tape them to a sheet of paper. You have to make sure you write your driver code and dispatch # on all of the paper work. Put all of the pieces in order and hand them to the clerk at the fuel desk at a Pilot or T/S that has the scan system. You can also do this at one of the above terminals. The beauty of the system is it is almost instantanious(sp). As long as you get a trip scanned in by Friday at noon Marshfield time you will get paid for it on the following Wedsday. I am looking forward to the new system, just hope no gremlins pop up with it. My fleet manager told me to hang on to all of my paper work until I verify that I was paid for the job, then I can throw it all away. [bold] DRIVER BY CHOICE [/bold] Buzzdog Answer: Buzz, haVE you tried scanning yet? I tried a sam;le jacket at Kauakuana the other day. Worked pretty slick. I'm setting myself up with a ream of paper and scotch tape. Then after scanning I think I'll punch a hole through a folded trip jacket and put in a post type clip to hold it all together. I'll hang on to them til I'm paid for the trip. Of course logs I'll hang on to for at least 5 yrs. I'm on vacation until 9/8/03 then back to the trenches. BTW I'm in 3381 on curtainside div. (red truck) LOL Better to have it and not need it as need it and not have it!Just remember:If the world did'nt suck, you'd fall off! The more I see and read about Republicans and Democrats, the more I wish we had an Independent Party. IMPEACH BUSH!!!!!!!!!! Answer: Buzzdog, I don't think you've been to Alaska (AK) in a Roehl truck, Arkansas (AR) probably, but not AK. BOL Copyright ? 2006 - 2007 www.thankhealth.com Privacy Policy
