parking in the northeast
Question:
Seems Im driving into the night alot...finding it real hard to find parking in NJ to New England. I tryed to see if I could start earlier but my dispatcher laughs at me Answer: Yes, late at night you'll find it hard to find parking up that way. I use to run mostly at night and sleep during the day when there is plenty of parking available. I ran that area almost 2 1/2 years straight. Up to Ontario and Quebec often. Running at night, I never had to screw with traffic. One place You can find parking at night in NJ is Newark at Port Newark. You'll have to drive into the port and park on Marsh St. or down on toward the end of Marsh to the stop sign. You can park along the rail road tracks. (Don't park "on" the rail road tracks, or you'll find your self waking up in ME somewhere..LOL) Answer: Where exactly are you shutting down? There might be some places nearby that some of us may know about that can help you? I am from NH and ran New England a lot. I know a lot of hideouts that arn't on any truck stop directory.. Have you tried to park in shopping centers, like Wal Mart? They usualy don't bother you unless you are trying to get front row parking.. Stay way off to the sides and they pretty much leave you alone. Answer: Exit 38? 40? off I-95 in conn. where the pilot and secondi bros truckstops are. Everybody help me out. Anyways, the hotel there has truck parking in back and if you can sneak in there late at night----be real quick about it and don't idle, you can probably park there for the night. I've done it many times. Being that summer is comming you should be able to not idle for a few hours. Answer: P.S. since i go to hotels all the time, i've compiled a list of hotels that have truck parking and i'll post it as soon as i can find it. This is easy parking. You can't idle though. Answer: I see the "Mobile Homeless" are looking for "squatters" tips. It's the "lifestyle". Answer: Tip number one. Start earlier and laugh at your dispatcher. Answer: Secondi bros truckstop, now that is one truck stop I haven't been into in many years. Answer: I've never been there and don't want to. But i have used the hotel next door's parking lot many times which, now that i think of it, is uncool because that's like using somebody's property and they're not getting anything out of it. So, why don't u just spring for a night's rent? If you get the corporate lodging card you'll never pay more than $45 a night, but usually $35. Now, which exit is this at? Answer: I already have a corporate lodging card....it's for my truck every night. Answer: I hear there is lots of parking in Sparta, NJ, and they are more than happy to have you parking on their streets. Got a reefer? No problem! Wanna idle? Go right ahead. They don't mind. Answer: The last thing I need, is one of the Sparta Boys in a sun dress and high heels banging on my door looking for a date. Answer: Typical misinformation from one of the "Mobile Homeless" ilk.. You'll learn about them in time but here's a tip. Anytime they start a sentence with "I" they're lieing. Answer: route 146 south in Mass- there is a rest area and it's always a ghost town at night when I go by. I've parked there many times and I don't feel it's unsafe.
