Question for Tennessee Drivers
Question:
My wife and I are moving to the Nashville area in a month or so. After the homestead gets set up I want to get busy with my new career. Are there any drivers out there that can shed some light on decent companies that run that area? My main concern now is home time, but I also understand that for the first year I’ll have to put up and shut up, no problem. I am strongly looking at Roehl. Star Transportation out of Nashville seems to have a pretty good home time policy. Any others? Thanks Answer: Every LTL company has a terminal in Nashville which would offer you good pay and good home time. Answer: Thanks Beeman. Answer: Milan Express. I just started with them in January and am very impressed with them. Out five days, home weekends----EVERY weekend. They've deadheaded me 300 miles to make it home for the weekend. During the week you'll run 2300 to 3200 miles, so it's pretty much drive and sleep. So far, I have no complaints. They have a terminal in Nashville on Fesslers lane. Answer: How is the turnover at Milan? They used to have a lot of career type drivers. They seemed pretty happy but it's been a while since I talked to any of them and things are subject to change but I would have to put in a vote for them. As they run the Tennessee area I haven't seen a lot of their trucks lately.***Patience is the hardest thing to learn.. Answer: I don't see many folks leaving. A couple of guys I did run into that were leaving still thought it was a great company to work for. One was buying a truck, and another was taking a private carrier job.
