How to find a company that CARES about you
Question:
It's easy to find a company that will treat you like a human being. All you have to do is pick up some of these little books about trucking companys at the truck stop. Here's an article with a nice looking man and he says, "I like this Company. You can't beat the good people." Another one says, "We treat you like family" and a picture of a black man and his two kids and they're all smiling, which means they're not prejudice either. Here's an article that says this company has "Highest Miles!" and "Best Pay Package" and "Guaranteed Home Time!" and "We Care About YOU!" That's probably the best job. And here's another that says "We treat you like a human being instead of a number". And it shows a driver taling to a guy at a desk and the other picture shows the family having a barbecue and they all look very happy instead of COMPLAINING like everyone does here. So you see there are a lot of companys that care about you and will treat you like a human being. You just have to know were to look. These books with these articles are at truckstops and their free too. Answer: Start your own! Answer: Listening on XM lately, Schneider has some driver talking about how great the company is and how well they treat him. That is great! Finally the truth, not like here where there are so many trucking naysayers who do nothing but lie about how bad trucking is! Answer: With a driver turn over rate of OVER 100% I would hardly call Schneider a good carrier that cares for their drivers! Answer: To prove my point, the Schneider article in the little book says, "Schneider National offers MORE opportunity and career advancement." Then there's a picture of a brown bear trying to catch salmon on a water fall and it says, "Schneider National, the place to go for people going places." I mean HELLO! If you don't have enough opportunity, you can find the answer here because they offer MORE opportunity if you're the bear, instead of complaining like the fish! I think when drivers find out about these books they will get better jobs and treated like people more. When I finish school I'm going to use these books to find a good company to work for. I want to be treated like a real person and not get ripped off like my last job. All I can say is don't get a carpet cleaning job but I don't want to talk about it. Answer: By looking at your first post you easily give away your naiveness and that you're new. Here's a little newsflash. Most of those ads in those booklets are paid for by the advertiser. That means they can basically put anything they want to about their company. Those ads are usually very misleading. You can't tell whether a company is good by simply looking at their ads in those little booklets. Im not saying schnieder is a bad company. I have never driven for them so I won't comment on them, but if you think a company isn't going to rip you off because they simply say they don't in their ad then Im afraid you are in for a RUDE awakening. Im not trying to sound smart or to attack you, just telling you the way it really is and not to judge a book by it's cover. Good Luck in whoever you choose to drive and be careful.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL. Answer: I think someone needs to check and see if his sarcasm detector is set to the "On" position. I detected a lot of sarcasm and tongue in cheek in the initial post here. Answer: Which post are you referring to? There was no sarcasm intended with mine.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL. Answer: Back at ya Answer: That wasn't intended to be sarcasm. If you read the post ALL THE WAY to the bottom you'll see that this wasn't sarcasm. Just stating some facts.Disclaimer:Pick too ugly to post at this time,LOL. Answer: Ditto. Even the pay numbers andCPMs can be misleading. I wouldn't trust a thing they say until you've talked to them and really pin them down on the real specifics.....and even then, who knows....? Answer: I didn't think it took a rocket scientist to see that Stuffed is being sarcastic and his comments are meant to be funny. Some of you aren't getting it, that in itself is midly amusing. Some of you guys probably need a cue card to laugh at a joke. Answer: I have an example about getting stuff in writing (yes i know the pay is low but not my point). I was told by a recruiter of my now current job that i was going to be paid 30cpm WELL i went through orientation getting paid 32cpm IN WRITING. i was amazed and shocked. Got a raise before i got my truck... Answer: Thank heavens for Trapper. I was beginning to wonder if I missed the oh so obvious point. It wasn't a gut buster, but at least I thought someone was trying to be humorous. And with Hillary planning to run for president, we need all the laughs we can get!
